Biblost Posted February 28, 2016 Share Posted February 28, 2016 Hi everyone I need to reset my laptop due to a defect, which the laptop manufacturer only wants to address after I've reset the computer. This includes wiping the hard drive, thereby removing all personal documents and installed software. I'd rather not buy an extra external harddrive to backup my computer (or is it 'back my computer up?'), so I try to put everything I must keep on USB-sticks. Since I do not have any photos or videos on my computer, this should be doable. I have the install disk for Skyrim. I've already located the saved games folder and created a back-up. I also want to somehow keep my list of installed mods, so that I can continue playing Skyrim after the reset (and after reinstalling Skyrim and its mods and putting the saved games back in place, of course). Naturally, I don't want to copy all Skyrim program files (that are also on the install disk) to USB-sticks, as that would be a waste of space. I was wondering what the minimum is I need to copy to my stick to keep my mods. Back when I still installed my mods manually, that was usually just the data folder. However, since I'm now using NMM, I don't really know where exactly it installs the mods (and their load order, ...). What should I do to be safe? I don't care if I have to redownload some mods, I'd just like to be able to keep my set-up and load order, so that I can continue playing without having to worry about dissapearing content. zuesman101 Posted February 28, 2016 Share Posted February 28, 2016 If you use LOOT (or if you don't, just download it an run it for skyrim), there should be an button in the top right (3 vertical dots). Click it. In the menu that pops up it should says copy load order. It is basically a list of all installed mods and the order they are in, so i guess that is a bonus. after clicking that option your load order is pasted to your clipboard so you can just paste it in a text file or e-mail it to yourself to keep it. zuesman101 Posted February 28, 2016 Share Posted February 28, 2016 there is always [(letter of drive skyrim is on):\Games\Nexus Mod Manager\Skyrim\VirtualInstall] where you will find all mods you have downloaded if your looking to put them on a flash drive.
