foxgrin
Found just the mod I'd been looking for. It's called 24 Hour Arena by Mezlo. Unfortunately it's more than a year old and when I tested it with the Oblivion Mod Manager it has a major conflict with the Unofficial Oblivion patch. Under the Unofficial Oblivion patch in the test results it reads: 'ArenaGrandChampionMatchScript of record type SCPT conflicts with 24hourArena.esp.' I don't have SI but do have the 1.2 patch because I hope to buy SI soon and also because some of the more recent mods require the 1.2 patch. Normally when there's a mod I really want that conflicts with another mod (that I also really want) I just change the load order and sometimes that fixes the problem without me having to dump one of the mods for the other. However I understand that the Unofficial Oblivion patch needs to be loaded right after the main Oblivion file in the mod loading list with all other mods following those two. What I like most about Mezlo's mod is that you don't have to wait for the announcer to finish speaking to go out and fight. After so many times playing the arena with different characters it's gotten very tiresome waiting for the incredibly slow-talking showman to shutup so the killing can begin. (No offense meant to anyone who really likes the announcer.) Any ideas how I can resolve this problem and still be able to use the mod? Vagrant0
Try just loading mezlo's mod after the unofficial patch. It's a scripting conflict which means that the script contained in the later mod will be used instead of the former. Unless the unofficial patch also adjusts other stuff based on that script, it shouldn't be an issue. Whatever problem there was with the script will be back though. If that doesn't work, maybe mezlo will come around and update his mod, or provide some more information.
mezlo
Hi, I've looked at the changes the Unofficial Oblivion Patch makes to the script in question and here is the comment for it: ;UOP added faction changes removing from non-evil factions and adding to evil Valen Dreth faction to prevent player from getting murder stat if Origins of the Gray Prince quest is completed So, if you load my mod after the UOP, then the bug described will still exist. If you are happy with what my mod does then I think you should go ahead and use it. Also, while it would be easy to integrate the script change into my mod, I'm not sure if the authors of the UOP permit other modders to do so.
