UV Maps Please

Foul

Recommended Posts

Could someone please create a compilation of UV maps for DL or point me to an easy way to create them.

Please don't say Blender since I've tried both new and old versions with new and old script and plugins.

I stll can't get it to work correctly. ( unless of course you have a fool  proof DL of it pre-configured.)

Thanks

UVW maps for what? Not quite understanding what the problem is. Are you sure you even know what UVW maps are?

I believe this will explain to you what I am trying to do.

As for what I would like UV maps to.... Clothing, Armor, Jewelry, Animals, Characters that are frequently used within the community.

Personally I'd really like UV maps to Everything but, that seems unlikely unless I can do it myself.

I would like to try my hand at retexturing a few items and if I think I did well on the first few then I would continue.

As a Side note... I am trying to create a maze adventure and am having issues with trying to view the entire maze from a top view. Seems like it only displays sections and not the entire maze. I am trying to cut and paste walls and have issues seeing if they will line up with other zones. Any help?

You don't need UVW maps for existing items, just use the existing testures for those items as a base. Between the texture, the texture alpha, the normal map, and the normal alpha you should be able to figure out what regions of a texture are being used by that mesh. People don't have libraries of the standard UVW maps because of this, and because they would have to load the models, then regenerate new ones for every mesh, which only makes sense when you have a new model without any textures made for that model. Ok, having the UVW on hand can make some things a bit easier, but people aren't going to give you them, they can be easily created if you have the programs needed, and I think even the newer version of nifscope can generate them. Regardless, you're gonna have to do this yourself, don't be so lazy, if other people can get it to work, you can get it to work.

I equate lazy with not trying. I spent 3 hrs trying to figure out Blender UV Maps while referring to tutorials then uninstalled it. So calling me names is easy. >:(

I use to keep small libraries of UV files. I have since deleted all of them since I do not play those games anymore and have reformated at least a few times over the years. Some were done by converting meshes to OBJ files. A process I would rather skip if possible.

Personally I have no trouble sharing anything I create and have seen more than a few places post UV maps and base skins for people to edit for other games. I thought this community was loyal and extremely helpful. Sorry for the oversight.

Please share a link to the tutorial for nifskope 0.9.8 UV generation. Please forgive the fact that I am not an Oblivion or Nifskope Wizard.

I've read these and still cant find where it generates a UV maps.

Thats because those tutorials are older. It was added within one of the features of nifscope.

Select the NitriStrips block of what you want the uvw map for, right click > textures > export template.

It can only save as TGA, so you night need some image software that can open or convert that format. It will however create a simple black and white UVW map.
