ragnarbloodaxe
Would it be possible to play on Insanity without perma death, or on Hard with insanity's monster attributes by modding the game files?
zky
I'm hoping someone mods this too, though i'd rather have some mods that rebalanced the game overall.
pcchip
I've been searching for this as well, it appears either nobody else cares or it's not possible. I'm really assuming that insane makes the monsters harder and is not just [hard + 1 life] I guess for now we will just have to settle for the Better Combat Mod + Complete Equipment Overhaul + Hard difficulty ----------------------------------------------PS - instead of only 1 life per game, I wouldn't mind 3 lives per chapter, and if you lose all three lives you have to start the chapter over again. Kindo
Higher difficulties unlock more advanced moves and AI for enemies; and do not just simply add more hit points and damage output or something like that (I noticed going from Easy to Normal that enemies started going into blocking stance as part of their abilities, to name an example). This is why a lot of people want Insanity difficulty, but without the aspect of deleting save games if you die. I don't know if it's possible to unlock the full AI difficulty, or in some way remove the save game deletion from Insanity, so for now we have to make do with mods that attempt to rebalance the game. I recommend Better Combat and my own Complete Equipment Overhaul. These two work fantastically together, and unlocks a completely new experience, focused mainly on Normal/Hard difficulties, but will also make Easy more fun to play, with a bit more bite. Still, I would definitely love to get the Insanity difficulty available, without the risk of losing my save games should I die. In almost any game I play, I want the enemies to play at the best of their abilities, and not just have a massive amount of HP or something. topcat098
I'd just like to add my voice to this request. I've played through three times, once on easy, normal and hard. I'd like to try the next level up but NEVER with perma-death. I would hate that so much.
