FNVedit issues and inquires, require help plz

I finally decided to look into learning to use the FNVedit, so I downloaded the manual for it and the software.

Now when I got to the chapter that deals with "MRM" and "MUM" or FNV Master Restore and FNV Master Update, I came across a problem.

See, in the tutorial the two pictures for both the FNVMasterRestore.exe and FNVMasterUpdate.exe show each window with their names above and look as they should,

But after I followed the instructions and created these two .exe files in the manner it was explained, I get these windows instead:

FNVView instead of what they are supposed to be.

 

And even the windows themselves are not what they are supposed to be as shown in the guide's pictures.

Anyways, not sure why but I was hoping someone knew some answers and could help me out.

I don't think the author of the guide is around anymore, so I am seeking help on the forum.

Would like to continue learning about the FNVedit but not if what I see in the guide differs from what the software shows me heh.

Change your folder options in the windows control panel to show extensions of known file types.

What you have there is FNVMasterRestore.exe.exe and FNVMasterUpdate.exe.exe

Ask me how I know this ;)

Great, thanks! Would have never found this out on my own, I mean....how would one find this out by themselves if not by mere chance

No idea how you know this, but I take it someone else told you or you worked around until you came across the solution?

The other EXE files in your screenshot do no show ".exe" behind them.

Got fixed it now, so no worries.

Had to do what ricker suggested to me.

Then I saw that both files had 2x .exe behind them and all I needed to do was remove one on each file and now it works.
