The Dark Brother
I've always found it strange that daylight blazes through the windows (even at night). Is there a mod that sorts this, I've tried Illuminations within and so on, but it doesn't do anything. Also, it would be good if you could actually look through the windows and see what's happening outside (or shoot people with arrows)!!
PanzerOfGod
Actually, there's a mod that does just that. It makes the windows see-through. I'm really sorry, but I don't know the name. I'll look for it in a bit. Edit: Sorry, I really couldn't find it.
TheTerminator2004
How would it be possible to make windows see-through? Interiors are completely separate from exteriors... the only way I can think of to do this would be to move the insides to the exterior cell... something like the house on top of the world mod (sorry, no link). But that wouldn't work for most buildings, because the interiors are bigger than the exterior models.

They were talking about it somewhere on Paradox's forums. I remember it from when I first joined. Edit: K, I found where we talked about it:That sounds pretty good...Also, I'm pretty sure a clear floor wouldn't be too hard to make. People have made mods that turned the windows on houses into real windows. Ninja seems pretty confident they exist.
TheTerminator2004
Oh... I didn't see that, I only really post in the staff room. I'll have a look around there then. Thanks. EDIT: Where exactly did you see that thread? I can't find it anywhere.

Like Bethesda did with the Temple of the One when it was... Open.

Open. That would work in a city, like with the temple, where you don't need to worry about the ground because the walls are so high, and the street outside is done with a model anyway, but what about a house in the country? How would you do the ground outside, or hills in the distance, etc. Even if it were possible, it would be too much work to do every single interior cell in the game. Maybe once my computers fixed, I'll have a look round Tessource and see if I can find this mod... I'm really curious now.

Is there a mod that sorts this, I've tried Illuminations within and so on, but it doesn't do anything. Is there any way to have night-time textures for the windows on the inside of a building, so that when you're sneaking through a house at night, it really feels like night, without sunlight blazing in? Also, slightly off-topic: I've noticed a problem with 'Illuminations Within/Without' (this might only apply with patch v1.2). When the mod is activated, the Temple District in the IC seems messed up, the Temple itself is floating a few feet off the ground! When I turned the mod off, everything was back to normal. (I only noticed this after the end of the main quest, anyone have an idea as to how lights in windows could have an effect on that?) It's definitely connected to that mod, as it went away when I disabled the mod.

Is there any way to have night-time textures for the windows on the inside of a building, so that when you're sneaking through a house at night, it really feels like night, without sunlight blazing in? You'd probably have to retexture the interior model for the house, which is what has the window on it. This could be done, but then you'd have to make a script to replace all the interior models with the new models. Add to that the fact that some interiors (such as the temple of the One) have lights which are behind the windows representing daylight, and it would be very hard to do (although still not impossible.
