Quest "fix", about McDonough.

Exposing Diamond City's mayor, McDonough!!!

 

It is well known that once the player finishes the main quest of either the BoS or Railroad, they will eventually get a quest where they find out who McDonough is. But the game only allows the player to confront him about it, at which point the player will be given only 2 choices: either let him leave or kill him (or fight him then kill him).

 

The problem is that there is no possibility to expose him to anyone else.

So I went around the Institute hacking every terminal I could find and in the Synth security place there's actual proof that Diamond City's Mayor McDonough is a synth plant replacement of the real McDonough just like Piper said! But there's no conversation to tell Piper about this, no accusing him of it, no telling security, it's really annoying! I've checked McDonough's terminal too and it's completely in character so no luck there. Anyone else finding this an annoyance?

 

 

Really wish I could confront the informants and expose the Mayor. Hopefully it gets resolved later in the story but this was hugely disappointing. Reading the terminals was an awesome revelation so I immediately went to Diamond City. Couldn't find the Mayor so I went to Piper. She had been sleuthing thus story and I have definitive proof, the character would love this! Absolutely no conversation options really caused me to lose any sense of agency.

 

Same thing happened when I went to the Railroad HQ. Surely these people would love to know what I found out? Nope, nothing. Worst part is Tinker Tom keeps marveling at how I got into the Institute. Damn it these informants are scum, it was crazy reading that list and knowing the names. Trashcan Carla hit me really hard. I really believe in the Railroad, and I have valuable information to help them, but the game just ties my hands and I'm just like: right, this is just a f***ing game, none of it is real, none of it matters.

This has to be fixed. I expected that I would be able to expose him to either the SoB or Railroad, and Piper and DC's citizens. But no, you can't do that.
