Wonko486
Alright, so I was working on my T-60 last night, and I had a thought: I can calibrate the shocks to make it carry more weight. I can adjust the arms to give me more melee power... but I've done this on every suit I've gotten my hands on. Even if I use the same frame. Aren't the shocks, struts, hydraulics and servo motors IN the power armor frame and not the armor components? Isn't the carry weight and melee capacity determined by frame mechanics? So, here's my thought: mods for the armor frame itself. You take the carry weight and melee damage off the armor bits, and mod the frame directly. You can even give yourself a bunch of options for early game and later game: Frame Mods; only one active at a time.-Titanium frame: replaces structural elements of the armor frame from steel to titanium. Increases carry weight and movement speed.-Buoyant frame: fill hollow sections of the frame with cork, allowing you to swim while in the armor. Increases overall weight in armor minorly.-Custom fit frame: minorly lowers weight, and reduces AP cost on actions.-Reinforced frame: increases overall weight, but also increases armor value of all parts by 15%. Also Increases armor value when the frame alone is worn. Servo mods; only one active at a time.-Optimized servo motor network: Tuned servo motors increase your movement and aiming speed.-Calibrated servo motor network: Adjusted servo motors increase carry weight and melee damage.-Upgraded servo motors (expensive!): increases base carry weight and movement speed by 10%. (okay, maybe you stack this one and one of the other two...) Hydraulics mods: only one active at a time.-Tuned Shock Absorbers: increases the damage radius of impact venting.-Kinetic engine: allows you to store the energy from falling and use it in melee combat (you lose the impact venting.) Increases melee damage and crit ratio when active, but runs out quickly. Reactor mods: just plain expensive.-Power System optimization: tunes the power systems to reduce battery drain, cores last 10% longer. (same as the bobblehead.)-Fusion Cell adaption (this one is probably worthless, but I thought of it anyway.): Adapts the power systems to support fusion cells instead of fusion cores. I figure that some of the recipes here could be tied to the nuclear physicist perk, and maybe the robotics perk. My thought is that the power armor in it's entirety becomes something precious: yes, there are a lot of suits and frames out there, but like the weapons once you mod it, you are more hesitant to lose it. This way, people might still collect the suits, but will be more willing to mix and match on the one frame, as opposed to just jumping in the next suit that comes along. I had my first suit of T-45 stolen by a raider: they literally stole a tank, and it was an annoyance more than anything, I never even had to take a shot, the sanctuary settlers finished him with pipe pistols. I walked over to olivia station, grabbed the suit there, dropped on the armor bits from the old one, and dragged that damned raider into the river. That's not friggen right: This thing that is supposed to be the pinnacle of armor support and it became a joke within 10 minutes of the game introducing the concept. I just want to get some more mileage out of it. Edit: oh yeah, feel free to make suggestions. I'm not a modder myself and have no idea if this is even feasible, but what the hell, yeah? Dream big! ShadowHound96
Great idea, really hoping a modder sees and likes this also, YAAAAAAS, damn daniel.......I'll leave now.
