vanilla files for fo3 question

I just NOW learned how to properly install mods via the FOMM but now have a TON of 'manually installed' mods in there I need to delete from months of wrong installing. I'd rather avoid the whole reinstallation of the game for obvious time and headache avoidance. Instead of redownloading every mod I have put on and opening it to find what is in the texture, meshes etc folders in the data folder, is there anywhere where someone has posted up the vanilla files?

That would be a godsend. If no one has, I just may type it up myself and include it here for others to know.

Doing that is illegal, as the files are copyrighted material - you will either have to go through the process of unpacking your BSA files and replacing\switching content that way, or reinstalling the game.

oh, okay. I had NO idea. Thanks for the quick reply. :) what I decided to do was kill 2 birds with one stone and am both downloading the mod files, looking at them ''unzipped'' and going to each folder and deleting them before placing the zipped versions into the fo3 mods folder I made. Time consuming but less so than having to reinstall.

Wow, so even just typing down 'data' 'whatever.esm' et al would be illegal? Holy cow, I'm glad you said something :O

If you mean a simple typed up text list of the contents, no that would be ok - it's just posting the actual files that would be an issue.

What I do is when I make a new install of a game, I copy the directories to another location and call it "Fresh-Install of ...". When I need to wipeout a corrupted install I just delete everything under the main directory and copy the fresh install in it's place. Admittedly, I do have 3Tb of storage space on my system, so space is not an issue.
