SoulKatana
Hello,I am new to Fallout, but I am quite familiar with the Elder Scrolls 3-5 on the PC.I say this because while I have some experience with using other people's mods and making simple mods for myself, I am having a strange problem with a simple mod that I wrote; a mod that was only meant to change some equipment stats.I am using FOMM, and my mod is dead last in the load order (assigned by LOOT). But for some reason, _some_ (but not all) of the changes made by my mod are being ignored. In particular, I changed the weight of grenades and mines, and the shell capacity of the Sawed-Off Shotgun. When playing the game, those changes apparently have no effect -- the grenades/mines still have its original weight and the Sawed-Off still has its original shell capacity. Other changes from the same exact mod (e.g. to the enchantment on various pieces of armor/clothing) work just fine.Since my mod is last in the load order, what could be causing this issue? Thanks for your help!NOTE: My game is relatively lightly-modded. I am using UF3P, Fellout, and a couple of texture replacers. vforvic
From personal experience I can tell you that the GECK will sometimes show everything should be working and it just won't work. This is what I would do. I would first use FO3Edit to see more clearly what is overwriting what or if anything looks out of place. Even then you can't fully trust it is showing you things correctly. If everything looks good in FO3Edit I would delete all changes in my mod that are not working. Then make a clean mod with only those changes that you removed. This will at least convince you that you are doing it right in the GECK if that clean mod works in the game. Then you can try going back in and making the changes again in your mod or even merge the 2 mods. I can't count the number of times I have had to delete something I worked on and then go back in and do it again and then it works for some reason. SoulKatana
Thanks for your reply! I did get my changes to work the other day, but it required some work. What I ended up doing was: 1). Convert the main ESM from the Unoffocial Fallout 3 Patch to an ESP;2). Edit my changes into the ESP to make my own personal version of the UF3P;3). Convert my ESP back into an ESM;4). Activate the new ESM in place of the original. Voila! I have no clue why this method worked, but it did.
vforvic
I find the GECK is the epitome of if it's stupid and it works then its not stupid. Drives me absolutely crazy sometimes. :)
