calibas2
Fallout NV...Every time I start to play the game, I have to first deactivate then reactivate the UI Mods in Nexus MM in order for them to work together. Mods are" Darnfield, One Hud, MCM and UI. Is this caused by New Vegas or Nexus MM? It's not terrible, but rather odd. All the other mods work fine. Can I fix this or just live with it?? If I don't do this the Huds are huge (like vanilla) and one Hud is all mashed up and unreadable. Any suggestions?
dubiousintent
You should only need to do it once, until you add another HUD mod. By mod "UI" are you actually meaning "UIO"? If not, you need UIO to seamlessly get different HUD menus to work together (unless you want to do so manually). The differences in HUD displays are likely due to them not all being aware of/adjusted for DarnifiedUI fonts. Sometimes there are "Darn" specific optional files for mods to deal with this. (OneHUD has one.) Be aware that the "install order" of mods is different than the "load order", and as a result you can have a problem with "Darn" and MCM XML menu file conflicts. In that case, see this post for an explanation of what is going wrong. When you deactivate and reactivate a mod, you are affecting the "load order", unless NMM uninstalls and re-installs the complete mod when you do so ... in which case it is affecting "install order" as well. (I don't use NMM so I don't know.) Do you have NVSE installed? Both MCM and UIO require the later versions, and work fine with the latest (v5.0b3). -Dubious- Edited March 8, 2016 by dubiousintent
calibas2
Thank you. I do have script extender and yes, I meant UIO. Will check out link you posted and try that. I had installed the OneHud Darn patch as per Gopher's video. Edited March 8, 2016 by calibas2
calibas2
Help. The MCM "not detecting Darn in the start menu" message does not occur. What I am saying is the Darns fonts do NOT appear in the game unless I deactivate/reactivate Darns, Onehud, Onehud Darns patch, MCM and UIO in Nexus MM before I enter the game. I have to do this every time I start to play the game. What causes this and how to fix it?
dubiousintent
From the DarnUI forum page: Edit the ini like so:[Fonts];sFontFile_1=Textures\Fonts\Glow_Monofonto_Large.fntsFontFile_1=Textures\Fonts\DarN_FranKleinBold_14.fnt;sFontFile_2=Textures\Fonts\Monofonto_Large.fntsFontFile_2=Textures\Fonts\DarN_FranKleinBold_16.fntsFontFile_3=Textures\Fonts\Glow_Monofonto_Medium.fnt;sFontFile_4=Textures\Fonts\Monofonto_VeryLarge02_Dialogs2.fntsFontFile_4=Textures\Fonts\DarN_Sui_Generis_Otl_10.fntsFontFile_5=Textures\Fonts\Fixedsys_Comp_uniform_width.fnt;sFontFile_6=Textures\Fonts\Glow_Monofonto_VL_dialogs.fntsFontFile_6=Textures\Fonts\DarN_Sui_Generis_Otl_13.fnt;sFontFile_7=Textures\Fonts\Baked-in_Monofonto_Large.fntsFontFile_7=Textures\Fonts\DarN_Libel_Suit_Otl_24.fntsFontFile_8=Textures\Fonts\Glow_Futura_Caps_Large.fntsFontFile_9=Textures\Fonts\NVFont_Test.fntJust replace the entire fonts section with this. The lines starting with a semi-colon are commented-out default entries. If using the launcher, edit Fallout_default.ini in the game dir to get these settings to stick. The launcher resets the ini to the values from this file. Backup the original first. If you're bypassing the launcher, you can edit Fallout.ini directly: "My Documents\My Games\FalloutNV\Fallout.ini". Backup the original first. If neither method works, try editing My Documents\My Games\FalloutNV\FalloutPrefs.ini instead. This seems to work for some people. I edited all three files and never have a "fonts" problem. Not clear why re-activating those mods would affect the INI files in that way, unless perhaps you are using a mod like this one to make those INI configuration changes? -Dubious- Edited March 13, 2016 by dubiousintent
calibas2
Well, I think I fixed it. I cleaned all the DLC ESM's with FNVedit, (ONLY cleaned the DLC Esm's and nothing else). For the last two game sessions, the fonts were fine. I did not expect cleaning to clear up Darns Font problems, but it did. Thanks for the help.
