Paladin357
Okay, I've done some modding in NV before, as well as several Elder Scrolls games, but I've run into a problem. I've got textures and models for an SKS rifle. Originally I just had one version in the game but recently decided to add a new stock as an in-game modification. The regular version has a wood stock, and I want the modded version to have a black, composite stock that reduces weight. I've already got the texture, but I can't seem to get things to work properly. So what I've done so far is to create the texture set in the geck, and make the item mod and add it to the rifle in the geck. In the mod info tab I've got the mod effect set up and it works in game just fine. The problem I'm running into is using the new texture on the modded rifle. I added the model to the Mod 1 spot of the Mod Info tab, but it doesn't seem to work properly in game. At first I was getting the black stock on both the stock rifle and the modded one. I switched some things around and then got the black stock on the unmodded version and the wood stock on the modded version. I just can't seem to get the wood stock on the regular version and the black stock on the modded version. Does anyone have any thoughts on my problem? Attached are some screen shots of the weapon info from the geck. Thanks in advance for your help,Alan
Paladin357
Never mind, I figured it out. For anyone else having a similar issue, originally I used 1 .nif model and just used different texture sets from the Geck. I also tried copying one so I had 2 models in the Geck, but that didn't work either. What fixed it was making 2 different .nif files, one for the base weapon and one for the modded version, then setting the textures right on the models using Nifskope. It seems that just changing the texture set in the Geck doesn't work in this case. Edited March 7, 2016 by Paladin357
