nyde21
Are there guides or websites that show me how to create a good character? Or a site that asks me questions. And depending on what I answer it creates a character for me.

drakeelvin
Are there guides or websites that show me how to create a good character? Or a site that asks me questions. And depending on what I answer it creates a character for me. There are a lot of guides if you go to GameFaqs or to Youtube you can find Fallout: New Vegas character creation guides, the problem is you haven't given a lot of info about your playstyle. Since you mentioned you don't have a lot of time let me give you a brief rundown on one of my most successful and powerful characters named Doc Holiday: INTRO Doc Holiday is a gunslinger who is very smart and has very high speech, science and medicine. Without a doubt, if you can get close to maxing Guns, Speech and Science you will have a very smooth time dealing with many of the toughest challenges in this game. High medicine is also a huge benefit for healing with stims later in the game. S.P.E.C.I.A.L S=6, P=5, E=6, C=1, I=10, A=6, L=6 (Strangely low charisma will be rapidly made up for with 17 skill points per level starting at level 4.) TAGS/TRAITS Tag Skills: Guns, Speech, MedicineTraits: Good Natured, Anything else you want (Kamikaze or Fast Shot are good to increase your rate of fire.) PERKS Level 2: Lady Killer (or Black Widow if you are female) let you easily get past many quest-related speech/barter challenges all through the game(NOTE: Conf. Bachelor/Cherchez La Femme are much less beneficial measuring by the number of quest-related speech/barter challenges) Level 4: MUST HAVE -- Educated (+2 skill points per level)Level 6: MUST HAVE -- Comprehension (+20 from magazines, +4 from Skill Books, I saved all found skill books until I got this!) OTHER PERKS I took rounded variety of perks that: Increase my skills (Tag! for example)Improve criticals (More Criticals, Better Criticals)Inrease gun accuracy/damage (Gunslinger, Cowboy, etc.)Improve my survivability (Toughness, Stonewall, Rad Resistance, etc...) SKILL POINTS PRIORITIES Levels 1-4: 15 SP per level, Levels 5+: 17 SP per level. #1 Guns, Speech, Science, Medicine (aimed for 100 guns/speech and 80 science/medicine)#2 Survival 40+ (Increases healing from food and allows creation of anti-venon at 40)#3 (Optional) If you want to be a sniper, keep working on your Sneak and get it as high as you can without sacrificing your #1 priorities FINAL NOTES The comprehension perk gives +20 for reading a magazine; however, having 100 guns is always a benefit and certain "one-chance and one-chance only" speech challenges pop-up unexpectedly, so while you could save/reload and read a magazine its a lot more efficient to just have 100 speech. For science and medicine challenges you don't need to reload, if you need 81+ and it is important enough you can consume a magazine. Regarding companions, because you have low charisma your companion nerve and DT suffer so go with companions who are excellent at ranged weapons, there are quite a few: ED-E, Cass, Boone, Raul, Arcade. I always preferred to give the humans a cowboy rifle because those do good single shot damage and don't waste a lot of expensive ammo killing things, except for Arcade of course he gets a plasma rifle. Trust me on this: if you give Boone a good cowboy rifle, lots of ammo, and put him on aggressive you wont get much of a chance to shoot anything yourself, he's a master of headshot criticals -- I just hate his sniper rifle he seems to have ammo issues and is always going machete so I just give him a cowboy rifle and lots of ammo and he becomes a terminator. Lockpick of 25 is fun but don't waste more than that; Science lets you electronically hack many very hard doors, plus science does far more than just open doors. Barter of 25 is likewise about as high as you'd want to go, anything further is a waste of skill points: speech by far is the key skill for quest-related challenges. I guess in summary I'd say that aside from Guns, Speech is the most important skill in the game if you don't have a lot of time and want to cut through a lot of challenges much easier and quicker. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
