Weird problem with .xbm files

Recommended Posts

Okay, this is starting to grind me.

Since I'm still waiting for someone to crack the model files, I decided to try altering a few textures. I've extracted dzip with quickbms, found triss_b1.xmb, unpacked it with quickbms as instructed, modified the dds file in PS CS5, renamed the files and packed them back to xbm. Smooth, no errors. Problem is, when placed in the correct folder in CoockedPC, the mod doesn't show up.

I've downloaded a texture mod from here to check if maybe I made some mistake in folder structure. I've merged the character dir I've made for my mod with the one that came with the downloaded mod. Launch the game, downloaded Zoltan mod is working, mine still doesn't.

So I decided to unpack Zoltan's mod, make some minor changes, repack it and launch the game again. The changes show up correctly, my mod still isn't there (sigh). Then I picked the same Zoltan file from my extracted dzip and repeat the process exactly like I did with the downloaded file. Nothing shows up. So I can apparently mod someone else's files, but not mine. Anyone have any idea what's going on?

Here's a sample modded file that I can't get to work. Maybe someone could cross check it against their mods and see if it works.

Edit: I've fixed the issue. Apparently the PS plugin was bugged and I had to wipe it and do a clean install.
