I agree. There's been loads of discussion on this front. Hot files=what other people like. You don't have to download them. :) Of course, massive overhauls like OBGE can get a whole load of endorsements.

However, what you want and what others want aren't always gonna be the same.

This will help: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/advancedsearch.php

Filter by category. Then, say it must have more than a certain amount of endorsements. You're done.

The point seems to be missed. Let's walk through what I do on a daily basis at TESNexus, in hopes of delivering my intention more successfully:

First, I'll open the website. Immediately, I'll view the 5 top Hot Files, keeping an eye out for any new, interesting mods I may of missed. Next, I'll begin browsing categories, searching for new magic mods, quests, or etc. With a certain gameplay aspect in mind, I'll then begin using the search bar to find something, filtering through to find the most well endorsed files, which are usually the oldest.

I go from Hot Files, to browsing categories, to doing searches. Only 2/3rds of my efforts on TESNexus are successful. I can manage what I'm searching for in the latter 2 parts, but the first part I have no control over. Even if TESNexus' new fetish next week is house mods, and it remains that way for months, I would still request this. I have nothing against the female cosmetic mods. My issue is the fact that the only thing up on the front page are those kind of mods. I want to control my experience on TESNexus's front page, like I can with everything else on the website.

Right. You want the categories of what's included in the set of "Hot Files" to be able to be defined by each member, according to indivdual preference.

While that's clear, it's also NOT the current definition. Whether it's possible/likely to tailor things that way, only the Site Admins and Owner can say.

(Oh, and I notice that your "Poll" is a blatant example of steering the reponses to a particular answer. The one the person asking the question wants to see favoured...)
