Becoming a Bandit

Coulda sworn I saw someone working on this sort of thing somewhere. Can't seem to find the thread though...

 

Anyway, the real issue with a "join the bandits" sort of mod is that it just doesn't work too well. There just aren't enough NPCs in town you can kill without interfering with some aspect of the game. Naturally, because of this, you couldn't have it where guards attack you since others would likely end up getting caught in the fight. That and something like rigging questlines where you ambush travelers would require someone who understands scripting, packaging, and other stuff well enough to control them, just to perform something which you can already just do on your own with a crowded roads mod active. Frankly I never saw the point in going through the trouble trying to setup a faction just to give people an excuse to go on a rampage.

 

It's not just for an excuse to go on a rampage...I really just thought it would be cool for Roleplaying and the like. Plus it's also not just for bandits you could be a necromancer too and you can spend your time with other necromancers creating undead things and stuff. Like I said I mainly want it for roleplaying.

 

Also, with the guard thing I was thinking about the guards on the roads being enemies and the town guards are just there to keep you out of town and force you to use the bandit/necromancer/conjurer/marauder merchant that the mod includes instead of a town merchant.

Depending on how much you want done, this mod could be very simple. Now don't look at me, i'm useless with scripting of any sort, but if all you want is to be part of a faction so that you wont get maimed by other members, then that would be too hard. You just have to be added to that faction, ask a scripter how to do that. Of course, it may have some unforseen consequences, but if you only want to be a bandit in one game and do nothing else, you should be fine. Also, I noticed that by wearing the gray cowl of nocturnal you can talk to highwaymen and team up with them against traveling guards. If someone does make this mod, then it would be good company for that mod that adds people to the road ways. Gives you more victims that way.

I guess I could try it out myself one day when I get out of this lazy funk I've been in...The only thing is I don't want to just become a bandit I want the other groups to be open as well and they must each have at least a merchant that would sell equipment since basically you wouldn't be able to step foot inside a town due to the fact that the guards would attack you. Idk about you but it's kind of hard to buy some more arrows to kill people on the roads with while guards are trying to kill you lol.

 

And there is a mod called crowded roads that adds many travelers to the road both night and day.

Similar mods have been made but not exaktly like this. Mods like reeners disguise and guard overhaul mod have this kind of feature , Puting on a disguise and bandits/necromancers/guasrds etc... Wont attack you and recongnize you as a faction member. That's why i suggested some kind of minor features to make the life as a villian more intresting.
