Reshade problem after GPU upgrade

Recommended Posts

I upgraded my GPU today from an ASUS GTX 760 2gb to an EVGA GTX 970 4gb.

after i installed the card and installed 362.00 nvidia drivers i can't get Fallout 4 to start.it crashes.

when i deleted my Reshade files(Reshade folder, dxgi.dll and Reshade.fx) the games starts and works ok.

i have checked my .ini files (because i started the Fallout 4 launcher to change the graphics-visual settings) and i have all the needed lines where they should be,

bEnableFileSelection=1

to Fallout.prefs.ini

and

sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, TEXTURES\, MUSIC\, SOUND\, INTERFACE\, MESHES\, PROGRAMS\, MATERIALS\, LODSETTINGS\, VIS\, MISC\, SCRIPTS\, SHADERSFX\

in Fallout.ini

Any idea what i should check or change in order to play again with shaders

Regarding your Fallout.ini edit, mine has nothing after "Strings\"

The editing needed for mods changed after one of the patches. The below is cut&pasted from Gopher's updated youtube video on enabling mods:

...........................

You will need to add the following lines to the Fallout4Prefs.ini file below the section marked [Launcher]:

bEnableFileSelection=1

You will need to add the following line in Fallout4Custom.ini:

[Archive]
bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
sResourceDataDirsFinal=

@kevkiev

first of all thanx for taking the time to reply :blush:

I already have these lines in my Fallout4.ini

[Archive]
bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
sResourceDataDirsFinal=

i tried copy-pasting them to Fallout4Custom.ini but no luck,

i deleted all ini files in MyDocuments/Mygames/Fallout4 and strted Fallout 4 launcher again so it would create new ini files. I copied the 2 lines under [Archive]

game launches but freezes on loading screen
