KawiRider
Hello all,Well, to get straight to the point, I'm on my third re-installation of Oblivion in a week (can't get enough of this community's fantastic mods). Unfortunately, I seem to find a way of playing great for a while and then screwing it all up again trying to install that mod I found earlier in the day. This past reinstallation was required because after updating from OOO v1.31 to v1.32 RC3 (I think I used Wrye Bash either incorrectly or shouldn't have used it at all - the readme was a bit confusing here) and installing Locational Damage v1.04 I had NPCs that were invincible to all but magic. Whenever I struck them with a melee weapon or hit them with an arrow they would sort of glitch/teleport to another location near me and take no damage. Also, after installing the two mentioned mods, blood effects and blood decals weren't showing up appropriately if at all. Now I have extensively reviewed the READMEs associated with each of the following mods and am requesting advice for the order in which I should INSTALL them and the order in which OBMM should LOAD them. After reading the READMEs my proposed (and revised) installation order is as follows: INSTALLATION ORDEROfficial 1.2 PatchOblivion Mod ManagerOBSE v0011Wrye BashUnofficial PatchOOO 1.3OOO 1.31***OOO 1.32 RC3***Deadly Reflex 3AF Level ModQuest Award LevellerRealistic Ragdolls Friction Increase & Less RigidRealistic Force MediumRealistic Magic Force LowReneer's Guard OverhaulThieves Arsenal v1.1KT_Custom_Race FixCheydinhal Petshop v1.7Companion Share and Recruit v2.17Qarl's IIIInitial Glow - allImproved Facial Textures v2.1Bab RC1Bab RC1 patchRens Beauty Pack v1.1 add raceRens Beatuy Pack v1.1 add hairElven Map (Colored)DarkUIDarkUI - BTMod Extras: Normal Hud with Bar Text; Map 50% - POI 50% - Markers ON; Status Screen - Skill Percentage MiddleNatural Environments (Natural Weather Disabled in OBMM)Atmospheric Weather System***Locational Damage v1.04*** *** starred items are ones I installed LAST on my previous installation of Oblivion and seemed to screw things up. Does this installation order look appropriate? Finally, what would an appropriate LOAD order look like for the mentioned mods. Just a summary would be necessary as I will post a screenshot of the load order after compiling the information from the responses I get. Oh and I will be starting a new character after installing these mods so no worries about compatibility with saved characters (yet, anyways ) Thanks! Vagrant0
Locational damage uses several scripts which do things that weren't intended to be done within the game. Likewise, since the mod changes the nature of combat, it will have problems with any mod that has anything remotly related to combat. Load order probably won't fix the issues which are happening since they are a direct result of that mod being in place. You can't expect something which really doesn't work too well on its own to work along side mods that affect damage, havok, skills, and all the other changes you have currently active. KawiRider
Ah, that makes sense. I went ahead and followed that exact same installation order minus Locational Damage and just started a new game. Thanks for the clarification and also for suggesting Bab's Body pack a few days ago. I'll post the load order later today.
