snapper69 Posted March 10, 2016 Share Posted March 10, 2016 Last night I spent 3 hours trying to sort out the Invisible Pipboy bug before finally reverting to an older save point. Going through my inventory I spotted Pipboy (do not remove) and I realized that I hadn't seen that while I was fault finding. I went back to the later save and sure enough the pipboy was no longer in my inventory. I can only assume that, while I was selling a mass of Raider armour, I had inadvertantly clicked on my Pipboy and sold that as well. Is there a way of making the pipboy non removable? Or maybe a mod? The pipboy is neither removable, visible in the inventory nor able to be sold... also, the pipboy is what you view your inventory on, so if you didn't have one you couldn't be viewing your inventory. On the later save, whilst I was out of my Power Armour I couldn't see my Pipboy, only my bare arm, when I got into the Power Armour there was a weird animation (it looked like my character looked to the left fast 3 times and then went instantly in to the armour). I had uninstalled the fast enter mod, as it seemed that might be causing my problems. Once I was in the armour, I could see my inventory once and there was no Pipboy listed in Apparel. After pressing tab again I could neither exit the armour nor see the pipboy. Going into 3rd person showed the armour distorted. I tried using the console command to search for a second armour frame but couldn't find one. I loaded a save from an hour earlier and everything was working fine and the Pipboy was listed in Apparel as Pipboy (do not remove) or something like that.Anyway I've only lost about an hour and one level so I'll see how it goes. The problem only usually only happens when i get into Power Armour and can usually be fixed by saving and reloading or going into 3rd person. Duh, that's why it says do not unequip.I guess you have it installed.You can bind equipping it to a button from 1 to =, so if you unequip it by accident, you don't have to reload saves. Thanks. I had a load of Raider armour to sell and I was tapping the sell key, it was scrolling down and then suddenly scrolled up when it reached my equipped power armour, I didn't do it deliberately. snapper69 Posted March 11, 2016 Author Share Posted March 11, 2016 It appears that the problem only occurs after I go to Dr Amari to get Curie. So I stripped the armour pieces off the frame and fast travelled to Sanctuary. Any power armour that I had made, caused the same problem, so I went out and found a set of power armour (T-51A) and took it back to Sanctuary. I replaced the T-51 pieces with my level 7 x-01 armour and problem solved. i put the T51 pieces onto my original frame, modded it and gave it to Curie. She looks so cute that it's a shame to put her in power armour, but needs must. Maybe I'll mod all the other armours that I can't wear and give it to other companions or settlers. Thanks for the help. the problem is that I can't enter any power armour that doesn't have a Fusion Core in it, otherwise I get the Invisible Pipboy problem. If I try to tramsfer a Fusion core into it, I get straight into it and the Pipboy problem happens. If armour already has a core in it, no problem.
