PhoenixKnight13
Sounds like you think I'm talking about VATS o.O *Points at thread title* I'm talking about those execution animations certain enemies do if your health is low enough, like a vicious dog jumping and biting you in the neck like Dogmeat on occasion does to human & ghoul NPCs. Cams are cams, the tweaks in that mod should affect all slow-mo cam animations if set up properly (whether you're using VATS or not)... that said, if you're dead why does it matter? lolNow if I'm reading it correctly, that addon does note in the description that it only disables ranged killmoves and has no affect on melee. However, if you're inferring that it's the killmoves themselves 1-shotting you like some special fatality attack, that's not the case. Sometimes enemies just hit hard, they don't have special killing blows that 1-shot you... The 'killmoves' you're referring to have nothing to do with the specific enemies you're fighting or what your health is at when they hit you (other than the fact that they did enough damage to take it all), it's just the automated camera response when you die. I've had ghouls deathclaws dogs and bears etc all end me with a lucky hit when I didn't have my power armor on. Especially bears, those assholes have nailed me for half my hp in a single swat on numerous occassions. The only way you can be locked into a killmove cam is if you're performing a finishing blow yourself, or if an enemy has attacks in progress on you. It's a pre-rolled system to a certain extent, so just because it may look like you could have dodged doesn't make that the reality. If an enemy gets a high enough roll against you, the killmove animation automatically kicks in, makes the actions seem more fluid and realistic by design (instead of waiting for an enemy to beat the life out of you and then playing the cam animation *afterwards* like if it was an instant-replay on a sports game).Instead of worrying about the animations try keeping a better eye on your health or attach a medic addon to your armor for auto-stimpak use lol. Vhearhok
Once again you're misunderstanding what I'm talking about. I realize that it was stupid of me to write "kill cam" in the topic headline, but the posts made afterwards ought to have made it clear that I'm talking about the type of killmoves enemies have a chance of doing if your health is below a certain %, like a feral ghoul jumping at you and biting your neck (no I'm not talking about the lunging they often do). PhoenixKnight13
And you're misunderstanding that they aren't special moves the enemy is performing on you. It's an automatically triggered random animation because they killed you. The way you died and attack the enemy performed have no correlation in that sense. The fact is the game rolled a high enough attack against you and thus locked you into watching yourself die via the slow-mo cam. There's nothing special about the final blow compared to the previous attack. There's no such thing as a special move the enemy does when you're at low health, it's only called a killmove because you died to it thus causing the game to automatically generate a random death sequence. You can see the exact same thing if you run around instagibbing with a high damage weapon, it triggers Bloody Mess and other related animations like driving your sword through an enemy, blowing up or lopping off a head, etc. Exactly the same concept when they do it to you. It wasn't special or intentional, it just happened to be the final hit that finished you off and a roll of the dice on how you died based on the weapon used. The only way you're going to avoid this is literally by not dying.Think of it this way, when you get a killmove on an enemy, what did you do differently? Absolutely nothing. You clicked your left mouse same as always. It works the same for enemies. Instead of being boring and just watching an enemy explode or fall over, you get to see your bullet fly through the air and watermelon someone's head or you get to drive your sword through someone's chest or knock their head clean off all with super slo-mo clarity. Same thing when that dog or feral leaps for your jugular and rips you a new one. Nothing different, no special attack. Just dead.Is it making sense yet? I'm not calling you stupid nor trying to argue, but you're not quite grasping what I'm saying apparently. Someone else help me out here lol. SeroJunk
(a year + later) I just have to disagree with you here man. over 10 str, over 10 endurance, had about 45% hp.. (so we're talking like probably = or >170hp current) and I got 1 hit grabbed into a death animation by a standard feral that bit my jugular.. To my knowledge standard ferals don't do over 170hp in dmg in 1 hit on survival (which is what I am playing). That is what he is griping about here. The same kind of s#*! happens with yuo guai, if you cripple them they can't insta kill 300+ hp... they just swat at you and you have a chance to survive. When I roll through the glowing wastes and absolutely face wreck, alpha and legendary death claws, radscorps, etc... and then i'm killing 3 ferals and 1 instakills me when i have a ton of hp... eh... yeah, it is a little ridiculous dude lol.You aren't a beth programmer and you're talking about these things like you are the one who programmed how killmoves are triggered.
