ShadowscaleB1980
Yes, Oblivion was a console port, and Skyrim will be too. I don't think you know what a "console port" means. There's a huge difference between DX9 and DX11. Tesselation and Subsurface-scattering make games look A LOT more realistic. I'm in the game development industry and I have experience developing games on both DX9 and DX11 engines. I'm probably going on the alternate definition of "console port" being that a game is developed on a console and then adapted to the PC e.g like halo 2 and Gears of war. I agree while there may be some visual benefits from going from DX9 to DX11 - I don't think they are going to benefit gameplay or add all that much to the immersive qualities of a game - I work in CGI and I can understand how things like subsurface scattering may improve the realism of human(iod) characters but that effect is really only usable on a small number of organic surfaces and it isn't as visually important as dynamic lighting, dynamic shadows*, accurate transparency & translucency effects. I think what Todd Howard wanted to get across is how they have refined and enhanced the game rendering engine from oblivion - actually I recall Todd Howard saying they ended up re-writing the graphics engine. *which they tried in oblivion but it really didn't work well. Hundsfott
I totally agree with shadow_scale9180! " 'Console Port' is a term specifically used to describe a game that was originally made for a console (such as PS3 or Xbox 360) before an identical version is created which can be played on a personal computer. " (Source: Wikipedia) And Todd Howard pointed out that Skyrim will have a lot of graphics-options (on PC) which make the game look way more awesome than on consoles (but only if your PC is a beast). ->This only being possible if Skyrim is being/was designed for PC and then adapted to consoles (with some changes [downgrades] to fit the hardware). (I'm sorry, if my english isn't that good..I'm from Austria :) )

( :hurr: ) I can run Just Cause 2 on the highest settings. FNV as well but FNV is a buggy mess. Also, hinti21 you English is actually pretty good.
