Mod RAR to DAzip files

Hello,

I'm new to downloading mods and after playing the game I thought it would be fun to add some mods. But I am having trouble and I tried to research how to fix the problem but I see a lot of different answers so I'm not sure what to do.

I was trying to add the Alistair's Royal Wedding Mod http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1839 and in the install notes it says to use the DAupdater. I downloaded the files and tried to view them with DAupdater but you can't veiw them because they are .rar files. People said if you downloaded from the Bioware site they would be DAzip files but again they were .rar files. The only way to see them in DAupdater is to change the files to DAzip manually but if you try to upload them they give you an 'error message'. I tried playing with it for an hour, even added the files in the 'Override Folder' but didn't seem to work.

Sorry for being such a noob at this, but if anyone could give me some advice it would be much appreciated.

Welcome, Vaspian!

I think you'll find the information you need in this article: "Using Dragon Age Mods for Dummies".

There's an explanation of the difference between the packaging of files for use directly in the game (".dazip") vs. packaging for distribution on websites (".rar", ".7z", ".zip", etc.)

Short answer: It depends on what type of mod is involved.

Happy Modded Gaming!
