borgmaster
I am making a mod and still in the learning process but i have not found an answer to this question. I have created an NPC and have tried adding custom armor to him. I am using Slythers armory for the armor and i have found that his armor does not spawn with the NPC i have made. Normal armor isnt a problem but his armor (Other than the shield) doesn't spawn with the NPC. I dont see how the armor affects the situation but the NPC just doesnt spawn with it in its inventory. fg109
If your mod is based off another mod, the other mod has to be set as a master file of your own mod. Using Wrye Bash is one way to do this.

David Brasher
If you have the author's permission, are using a modders resource, or are making a personal mod you will never share with anyone, you can merge your mod with the armor mod, or create new items with new form IDs of the armor within your mod so that the armor exists in both mods. You don't want to make your mod mastered to another .esp. It really stinks and is not fun. One false click and you ruin everything and have to reload an old version of your mod. So if possible, you should avoid using this approach and do one of the two easy ones.
