Replaying old character

Is it possible to replay a character I have already beat the game with, or do I need the help of a mod? I haven't been able to find an import feature for DAO so far. Also, I have no DLC included with the game so any mod requiring Awakening wouldn't work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, jaosals42;

Interesting question, but there's no such mod because there's no "Import" capability in DA:O whatsoever. That exists only in the later Expansion Pack (DA:A) and two of the DLC (GoA and WH).

Side Note: Unless you hak your saved game, there's no way to take a character who has completed a "later" adventure (according to BioWare's chronology) backwards in time into one of the earlier ones that does allow you to import.

Both LS and "The DLC Which Must Not Be Named" are seperate, stand-alone adventures and do not even have a PC in the way the others do. So no import there, of course.

On the second point; there are some item (mostly DLC stuff) and ability (mostly crafting and/or rune-related) mods that are specfic to DA:A. Ones that make certain things work (better, or in some cases, "at all") within that Campaign. But otherwise there aren't any that require Awakening.

Heyas!

I have a slightly different interpretation of what you're asking, so I'll go ahead and post the answer to that.

Are you asking if you can completely restart a character that you've already finished the game with?

If you don't mind COMPLETELY starting the character over again... yes you can.

You just delete the savegame folder for that character and then load them up as a new character.

C:\Users\"username"\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\Characters

Go to that ^ ^ folder and find the folder that has the name of that particular character in it. Either rename it to something like "Charactername"_old or just delete the folder all together. Just don't rename it to something like "Charactername"1. That will cause problems if you get Awakening and then want to take the toon to Awakening.

If you're looking to take a character all the way back to the beginning with their stats and gear that they had at the end, there's no way to do that, unfortunately :(

OR, if you decide that you liked the way that the character looked, and want to change them over to a different profession, or a different background when you start them over...

You can start up the new character (as long as it's the same gender and race) made to look however you like, and then use the face replacer to make the new character look like your old one.

You COULD use the ADD ANY ITEM mod to replace your equipment and the Dragon Age Beguiler mod to recreate your stats, skills and talents after starting a new character.

Why is the "DLC that can't be named" unnamable??

Because he disliked it so much that he won't even speak the name of it
