(MMORPS) Seeds of Fire Series: Blazing Trails Project

Team name:

MCForge Studios [http://www.mcforgestudios.com Under COntruction]

NOTE: Has Been In Development For 5 Years

Project name:

Seeds of Fire: Blazing Trails Project (Python Based)

Brief description:

Our vision for Seeds of Fire is to create a totally immersing, exciting, vast and unique online gaming experience for all players. The team are currently consulting with traditional land owners, historians, museums, farmers and colonial experts to allow us to have the historical aspect of Seeds of Fire as correct as humanly possible.

We aim to utilise the most popular styles of traditional gameplay, mix it with a splash of seductive wonder, throw in a dash of unaltered reality, season with a culturally diverse player base while offering such unique interactive features such as our Video Meshed Graphics, Voice Actuated NPC's, Realistic Player Damage/Healing System while still adhering to the key bindings that make some of the most prolific MMO games so revered throughout the world.

Our dream is the culmination of many years of researching the industry, gathering resources, finding the right team and deciding on a unique and controversial theme that is set to reveal many historical truths and bring to light a lot of injustices that were part and parcel of colonisation. Most can only speculate at present what Seeds of Fire will have in store for our players and that's the way we like it.

Target aim:

Seeds of Fire: Blazing Trails targeting a player base of 17yo+ due to some of the more graphic content of Blazing Trails and will be free to play (Full Service, No Subscription) with the option to buy Starter Packs, Settlers Currency, Valid Currency or Items Individually. The purchase of packs/items/SC/VC is specifically designed for players who would just like to get started without completing the charter.

Compensation:

The positions will be (pro bono publico). While the team will not be paid initially for their hard work that is not to say that we can't work out some ongoing percentage of payment for individual members of the team as our mmo attracts a large player base along with becoming profitable. I hope this fact plus the credit for your work that may infact launch your career to a higher level, will attract many developers both experienced and new apply.

Technology:

Seeds of Fire: Blazing Trails will be playable on all OS as we are incorporating a wide range of tech and tools. Python, Java, Debian, Open GL, Open AL, Apache, MySQL, Horde 3D, Blender, MediaWiki, irrKlang and our own Video Meshed Java Based 3D Engine to name but a few.

Talent needed:

We would like to extend an offer of acceptance to Java Programmers, 3D artists/modellers, and anyone who thinks they would be an asset to the team.

What we are looking for in a team member is someone that is willing to go the distance, both learning and sharing ideas within the team for the full length of the project.

If you can answer the following questions with a Yes, then join us on our journey to bring to life this epic adventure.

1. Are you willing to help with a project that could take 1-2 years before a Beta version is released

2. Do you love a challenge and rather than give up, find a way to make whatever you happen to be working on a reality.

3. Are you a team player that will try to help others within the the team with any problems they are having with whatever they happen to be working on, forgoing your own section until their problem is resolved or if you can't help refering them to another team member who may be able to help.

4. Are you someone who will stay loyal, not selling, giving, trading, leeking or posting code or concepts of the game (ANYWHERE) for the project except for submitting finished sections to the team.

5.Are you willing to help for no remuneration whatsoever until such times as the mmo becomes profitable.

If you have answered yes to all of these questions and you decide to join us please send an acceptance email to us via our website answering the develoment help questions on the homepage.

Additional Info:

The Seeds of Fire series will have 5 editions and as each new edition is released it will be merged with the previous edition/s to eventually create one HUGE totally awesome game world. The 5 editions are as follows:

The 1st edition is called Seeds of Fire: Blazing Trails. This edition is based in Australia's tumultuous early settlement and convict era.

The 2nd edition is called Seeds of Fire: Burning Bridges. This edition is based on America's battle for independence.

The 3rd edition is called Seeds of Fire: Dancing Flame. This edition is based on the American push into the wild west.

The 4th edition is called Seeds of Fire: Zealous Dream. This edition is based on the Spanish desire to dominate the America's.

The 5th edition is called Seeds of Fire: Mettre Le Feu. This edition is based on French idea of assimilation, set in the African colonisation campaign.

All of these colonisation periods would exist in basically the same time line so it was feasible to merge these different scenarios into one massive online gaming experience.

Funblocker Entertainment is on the cutting edge when it comes to knowing what gamers expect when starting a new game so in the interest of player satisfaction we are bringing to the table a fresh approach to how online games are played and enjoyed along with a unique way to compensate you for your time ingame without you the player having to ever outlay money for Game Money, Subscription, Items or Land.

This next section is a brief outline to the GDD further information available via email request.

Storyline

Set in colonial Australia, you are a newly freed convict. You have no possessions, no income and no home.

Faced with the task of surviving in this strange new land you set off into the great unknown, wondering what will become of you.

You hear rumors of a scheme set to help newly freed convicts, so you decide to find truth of this at the local courthouse.

You begin to read the outlined charter for newly freed convicts, maybe there is hope for you yet...

The charter is a way that our players can aquire all the equipment/supplies they need to get started for free along with SC(Settlers Currency)

You realise that by completing the nine tasks set out in the charter, you will be well on your way to becoming a valuable and productive member of society.

You will be given one of six random prizes upon completion of the charter and your mind soon drifts into vivid aspirations of what could be.

You could become a productive farmer, a wealthy land owner or even found your own colony but dreaming alone wont make it happen.

So get started, discover the past to make your future in Seeds of Fire...

Now that you have completed the charter for newly freed convicts and claimed your task completion prize. You will now need to prepare yourself for a journey of epic proportions.

This will take some time as you will need to ready both your equipment and supplies.

You may choose not to complete the charter in which case you may buy one of our many starter packs available in the general store.

You may even choose to explore the land without equipment or supplies just for the thrill of adventure.

You may still complete the charter at any time and receive your task completion prize.

The Charter

Woodcutters Woes

The first task you will find is at the sawmill on the outskirts of your chosen colony. Here you will meet an injured woodcutter who will explain he has an order to fill and can’t complete the order without your help.

Firewood Favour

The second task you will find is at the sawmill. Here you will meet the sawmill boss who will ask you about gathering some firewood from the nearby bushland for new year celebrations. You will need to gather some small, medium and large logs along with some kindling.

Picket Pickup

The third task you will find is at the town hall. Here you will meet the town halls grounds keeper. He will tell you of a dilemma he has with some fence pickets he has ordered that are at the sawmill waiting to be collected but he can’t leave to collect them as he is awaiting the arrival of distinguished guests, who will be lodging in the town halls guest homestead.

Bully Beef

The fourth task you will find is at the sawmill. You have returned to a crisis. The woodcutter tells you that his bullocks have been stolen by a band of bush rangers and he was lucky to escape with his life. He will then ask you if you would consider helping him get them back.

Colony Consignment

The fifth task you will find is at the governors office at the docks. He will then ask you if you would like to transport some supplies to an inland colony. Once you arrive you should seek out and speak to the mayor of the colony.

Highland Hunt

The sixth task you will find is at the colony. You will have to locate the resource coordinator. He will tell you about a shortage of meat in the town for the workers and the local hotel. He will ask you to go into the local bushland to hunt some native game animals to resupply their dwindling stocks.

Mine Masher

The seventh task you will find is at the colony. You will need to find the blacksmith. He will tell you about the shortage of iron ore for his refinery building. He will ask you if you will help him mine some iron ore.

Cotton Courier

The eighth task you will find is at the colony. You will need to find the cotton farmer. He will tell you of a shipment of cotton that needs to be delivered to the docks by morning. He will tell you he would deliver it personally but is too scared to travel the road at night for fear of a local tribal legend “The Dooligah”.

Grateful Guests

The ninth task you will find is at the town hall. You will arrive to find the new year celebrations in full swing. You will need to find the governor. He will tell you that his distinguished guests haven’t arrived and commission your services to find them.

Courthouse Compensation

Now that you have completed the nine tasks set out in the charter and received your task completion note for each, make your way to the courthouse, present the notes and you will be given at random one of six task completion prizes.

The Currency Exchange System

The currency exchange system within Seeds of Fire has been designed to provide both a real economy along with a great way to reward your efforts and consists several stages of production and trade so the economy runs both fairly and smoothly.

Some settlers may even want to make a living or create a business within Seeds of Fire. this is not only encouraged but recommended for settlers with idle time to use or settlers with an established social network.

New Settlers

The first stage consists of three options. The first option is to complete the charter for newly freed convicts and claim your task completion prize. The second option is to buy one of our many starter packs from the General Store. The third option is to buy SC (Settlers Currency). Please Note: Settlers Currency is not Salable, Transferable or Tradable to other settlers via any means until it has passed through the whole Currency Exchange System.

The second stage is to convert all of your SC into raw materials or assets at one of the many NPC vendors located throughout Seeds of Fire. You must take into account the type of settler you would like to become, the style of farming you would like to undertake and the scale of development, be it large or small, that you would like to achieve.

The third stage is to grow produce or create wares using your raw materials and assets you have purchased and although this stage may take some time to achieve, the outcome will be extremely rewarding.

The fourth stage is to sell your produce and wares for VC (Valid Currency) using one of three options. The first option is to sell to NPC vendors. The second option is to sell to other settlers. The third option is to sell using the Seeds of Fire Auction.

Established Settlers

The fifth stage consists of four options. The first option is to use your VC to restock raw materials and assets to expedite further production in the method of farming you have chosen or branch out to different methods you would like to try.

The second option is to bank any amount of your VC to allow established settlers to borrow. For this, you will be paid an interest rate of not less than 5% per Seeds of Fire month. The interest rate you are paid will rise when demand for loans rises and fall when the demand for loans falls.

The third option is to sell your VC for real money in our VC Sales Section located within the Seeds of Fire Auction. The rate you can sell VC is considerably higher than the price we charge for SC. The reason for this is the buyers ability to use it immediately to trade within the Seeds of Fire Auction, to trade directly with other settlers, or bank to start gaining interest.

The fourth option is to apply for a Loan Brokers license allowing you to loan VC against land, buildings, items or anything you deem to be valuable. This option is for established settlers with an accumulated wealth of £1,000,000 within the bank, living in or owner of an established Player Colony and have no loans outstanding from other settlers or the bank.

Some aspects of the Currency Exchange System have been left out and will only be revealed when our website is up and Seeds of Fire: Blazing Trails is fully functional.
