So, i was getting bugged with the new update coming up to i just decided to get it, then it said i needed .NETFramework v4.6, but my computer doesn't support .NETframework v4.6 so i can't use it to open mod manager!!!

And can people be considerate of the fact that i might not be able to get a new pc and not tell me to? thanks

If you're saying your PC doesn't meet the minimum hardware specs;

Processor: 1 GHz, RAM: 512 MB, Disk space: 4.5 GB

or if you're saying that you're still running Windows XP and can't update your OS,

... then you're out of luck.

Otherwise, any computer that is running Win7 SP1 or later can run .NET v4.6 (see here.)

.Net Framework is a part of windows and not something that Nexus has any control over.

I am assuming Win7 as that is where I see this over and over. :rolleyes:

Your computer does support the latest .Net Framework. The reason you get that message is you have not kept up with the updates like you should. The latest (and probably any future versions) of .net framework REQUIRE an old update called SP1 ( Win 7 Service Pack 1) which was a major update to Win7 some years ago. Installing SP1 actually changed the version number associated with that version of Win7 making the old pre SP1 version obsolete. It is available FREE on the Windows update site.

Not keeping up with the updates, especially the security updates leaves your computer wide open to being taken over by a hacker who will then use your computer as a part of his zombie network to DDOS sites like Nexus. And he will own all of your private information such as any financial info like credit card numbers, and any passwords for sites which can then be sold off to criminals. Just having an antivirus doesn't stop this kind of attack. Especially if you are relying on the Windows firewall - which gets updated too.

If you are that far behind, it will probably take most of a day to bring your computer up to date enough to be reasonably safe. :facepalm:

Steam is not required for NMM. You can use NMM without using steam. However, if you do use the NMM launcher for any steam exclusive game, It will launch the game through steam.

Steam updates nearly every day. :rolleyes:
