Well I managed to track down an article which is here and what it basically mentions is a very similar issue you to your except this guy had a crappy processor and I am going to assume you meet the minimum system requirements, but he also had 2 files that were missing when he installed the game the first and second time and Steam managed to find and replace them after he validated all the files. I don't know what or how to validate the files because I don't use steam that much, but I would definitely recommend validating your files to see if your missing any.

I'm glad you solved this problem. I was haveing the same issue last year & it has popped up again. At first i thought a complete re-instal would fix it, but no luck (it worked last time) I's running very few mods:

Goodsprings Farmhouse

Enclave Security Armor

Blackwolf Backpacks

- my custom m1918BAR mod -

SagerGlobals <---- I think this one caused the error. I've deactivated it. Will wait & see.

How did you validate the files? If this is the actual fix to the problem, I will deff try it. This is breaking the game. So far not many people have posted this problem, fewer have posted any suggestions. Any reply would be appreciated.

I didn't use commander's suggestion, those performance packs were causing the issue for me. Basically if you have a an esp or any file that removes bushes and tumbleweeds, get rid of em and check if the problem persists.

I figured out why removing tumbleweeds breaks the game. "Enableplayercontrols" only solves the problem of not being able to shoot or anything, but the tumbleweed at the beginning is a scripted event, apparently. So if you remove tumbleweeds, it removes the scripted event, thus breaking the game. I've been having the same problem since I installed it but didn't notice until later. I feel like a detective.

My issue is almost the exact same as what everyone else's was... But I didn't even notice I could not crouch. All I saw was I could not draw my weapons. But all I have installed are weapon mods and they seemed to have broken the game for me. I have removed said mods but still the problem of not being able to draw my weapon persists. Each time I validate the files through Steam it says there is one file not validating and says it will fetch it but it doesn't seem to as I have to keep downloading more files over and over again. I will attempt the enableplayercontrols option but if that doesn't work, I am not sure what there is to fix this since the file continues to fail to validate.

I have used the enableplayercontrols option and it allows me to crouch, draw my guns and fire them, but I am about to test if it works while I have the mods installed.

It does work with the mods I have installed, but I had an instance of having to use the command twice as I flipped through my pipboy.

If you are somewhere where you know you should be able to use all the functions, just open up the console on write "EnablePlayerControls" with out quotations http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/wink.gif

Yes! You just saved my game, now I don't need to re-install all my mods and start all over again. Many thanks!

I had the same problem, only when I created a new character with the mods installed (Remove bushes, grass, and tumbleweeds) was I unable to draw my weapon. I re-installed the three mods with the new character already created and replaced the flies it asked me to and works fine again. Hope this helps for any who may want to use these mods still.
