Forgive the rudeness in asking but as a mod creator, or user.... I'm curious how much you guys receive on donations on avrge, ball park amount or what you averages...I know it varies from mod to mod but that's part of my question..what mod and as to others? Secondary for non mod designers what mods do you donate to about how much and why?

There's no way to get an accurate answer to part of this. But my guess is that ~1% of mods get even a single donation. And the ones that do get multiple donations are made by people who create out of the love for either the game itself, or the love of the community or just genuine curiousity and creativity.

 

I have about 200 mods ranging from very tiny texture changes to mods that overhaul the complexion of the game--in particular ones that introduce role-playing, realism.

 

I can say that I donated to Chesko because his mods make skyrim the game I want to play. He's also very active and receptive to ideas and critique without being like a feather blowing around at the whims of those who follow his work--that's important too. I'll donate more when his next mods are released.

 

I plan on donating to Arthmoor, whose work is absolutely essential to any playthrough.

 

And I'll donate to any stable multiplayer mod that comes out.

People recording mod showcases and modding guides for their youtube channels are more likely to get donations than mod authors. Usually you feel more compelled to give money to someone who you like and most of the time viewing mod page is not personal enough for that. At some point Gopher talked in one of his videos how he felt about some people trying to donate after watching his guides.

Created 'bout 200 mods (many smaller personal ones) and many personal video tips as well, 30 mods on the Nexus itself, combined ~ 1 Million downloads, my YT tutorials and video views are ~ 500k.
