smashedhombre
Hi, I seem unable to get override mods to work on DA:O Ultimate Edition. By 'override' I mean mods that you put into packages/core/override in your DA:O install folder- mods such as Pineappletree's Vibrant Colours, Improved Atmosphere etc. I've had no problem with dazip mods that I can just install via daupdater- they go in fine. However mods that aren't dazip mods, that I have to put into the override folder don't work. It's worth noting I didn't have an override folder in my core folder, so had to create one. Also, should these mods show up in the downloadable content section of DA:O, like the dazip ones? Because they don't. Can anyone help? I've tried searching for the solution but had no luck. Regards! Thandal
Welcome, smashedhombr! I'm guessing from the fact that you say you don't already have an "\override" folder that this is your first experience with "Dragon Age" mods. So you might want to take a look at this article: "Using Dragon Age Mods for Dummies". After you've read through that, please feel free to post your questions about specific issues with particular mods here. The kinds of things that might cause "PT's Vibrant Colors" not to work are very different from those that might effect "Improved Atmosphere." And to answer a couple of your questions directly: a. Yes, if the "\[user's documents]\Bioware\Dragon Age\pacakges\core\override" folder does not yet exist, you simply create it. b. No, mods that are placed in that folder DO NOT show-up in the "Installed Content" menu. They aren't that kind of component. Let us know how you fare. Thanks! DarkeWolf
Also note that with mods such as PT's, you have to compile the chargenmorphcfg.xml file. You can do so with the compiler loaded here- http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=
smotpoker86
I had the same problem. I was frustrated trying to find where my override folder was. Reopening the core folder multiple times didnt work lol . I am almost 100% positive you have the same problem as I did. First of all you are looking for override folder in the wrong location. The override folder is in mydocuments\bioware\dragonage\packages\core , which i can almost guarantee isnt your install directory. I hate when companies do this with their programs . I never think to check in my documents folder and usualy go to the install directory in program files. Hope this helps, good luck!
