JJPHATX
Hey Guys, So I'm having this huge problem with FOMM, I have installed all my mods correctly, and created the correct load order using BOSS, but the minute I check the box for one of the mods it crashes! Can anybody please help or recommend me a new mod manager? I am RUNNING AS ADMIN Here is the crash text: Sunday, June 05, 2011 - 4:56:38 AMFomm 0.13.21OS version: Microsoft Windows NT 6.0.6002 Service Pack 2 System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:\Users\J.Bishop\AppData\Local\FalloutNV\plugins.txt' is denied.at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath)at System.IO.FileStream.Init(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, Int32 rights, Boolean useRights, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options, SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES secAttrs, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy)at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options)at System.IO.StreamWriter.CreateFile(String path, Boolean append)at System.IO.StreamWriter..ctor(String path, Boolean append, Encoding encoding, Int32 bufferSize)at System.IO.StreamWriter..ctor(String path, Boolean append, Encoding encoding)at System.IO.File.WriteAllLines(String path, String[] contents, Encoding encoding)at Fomm.Games.Fallout3.Fallout3PluginManager.SetActivePlugins(Set`1 p_setActivePlugins)at Fomm.Games.PluginManager.ActivatePlugin(String p_strPath)at Fomm.MainForm.lvEspList_ItemChecked(Object sender, ItemCheckedEventArgs e)at System.Windows.Forms.ListView.OnItemChecked(ItemCheckedEventArgs e)at L0ki.Controls.ReordableItemListView.OnItemChecked(ItemCheckedEventArgs e)at System.Windows.Forms.ListView.WmReflectNotify(Message& m)at System.Windows.Forms.ListView.WndProc(Message& m)at L0ki.Controls.ReordableItemListView.WndProc(Message& m)at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.OnMessage(Message& m)at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m)at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)
seanr55
I think I may know what the problem is. I tried it on my system and got the same error. Go to the plugins.txt file and right click, at the bottom of the window that pops up it will say attributes. See if the 'Read Only" check box is marked. If so, uncheck it, click apply and then OK. I deleted mine, clicked on the main ESMs to create a new plugins.txt, made it 'Read Only' and tried to click on a new ESP, sure enough got the exact same error. (Edited for stupid spelling mistakes. :wallbash: ) Edited June 6, 2011 by seanr55

lukashisuphola
First important info on me and computer: I use SteamComputer is windows 7Game and FOMM long ago worked fine until I over modded it and had issues with mods conflicting or somethingAnd Now Have reinstalled game a few times and I know FOMM has updated a bit since and maker I guess ditched it to make a whole new version or something along with everything else that has changed. having same issue as first guy... can't even turn on nv.esm without it crashing saying something like he posted...as for the suggested plugins.txt not even sure what that is and where it is. I looked through every folder and did many searchs on it and many hours and everything, but to no avail beyond the fallout txt file that you can open with notepad and is located in c:\user\name\documents\mygames\falloutNV that I assume is what he was talking about which is not on read-only so if it was than sadly it did not fix my prob; and probably his. But I have been getting kinda confused as to what and where it is as said so easily could be wrong. After spending another couple hours researching and everything I found one that was called plugins in the location it suppose to be according to error(had to show all hidden folders and a couple other things I forget), but all it has typed in it is: Active Wasteland - Vanilla Replacements.esp which I do not even have (had it before among many other mods before reinstal). So is it really called plugins.txt or is it just the fallout one that I mentioned? If it is the plugins did something go completly screwy with my reinstal or something (I have reinstalled the game a few times already). I am thinking the error is it something to do with it not existing at 'C:\Users\Name\AppData\Local\FalloutNV\plugins.txt' and is at the documents or it trying to read the thing that is there that just has the 1 mod that I no longer have typed in it? Klipperken
'C:\Users\J.Bishop\AppData\Local\FalloutNV\plugins.txt'IS the path.C:\ drive, Users Directory, your PC name here the first subdir, local the second subdir, falloutNV the third subdir, plugin.txt the file. That file, right click, properties, attributes on the pop up: disable Read Only. Hope this helps.... PS, please use EDIT on your original post the next time, so you do not have multiple posts in a row.Admins do generally not really appreciate multiple posts by people. ;) Edited June 17, 2011 by Klipperken
09890989
I'd like to add, if your FOMM/game in general still does this and you've recently reinstalled the game, your plugins.txt will still exist from your previous install and that does indeed seem to prevent mod manager from working because it still has all your old plugins listed. Just delete plugins.txt for a clean slate
