RofloX Posted March 17, 2016 Share Posted March 17, 2016 So I recently downloaded a mod that had a helmet+hood combo I liked very much. The mod itself had an ESP but also a BSA instead of just folders. Not a problem. I extracted all the textures and nifs related to the helmet+hood. I then opened the nif itself in NifSkope and everything about it looks great. Here comes by problem... When I then tried to open the mod in CK and look at how the helmet would look like in-game (Biped model), Only the hood part shows up. The mesh is the SteelPlate Helmet in vanilla Skyrim combined with a hood. But when I look at the biped model, only the hood part is visable. No helmet. I'm not the most experienced when it comes to modding but I just figured that it was just the CK not able to show the helm for some reason. So I test out the mod. But it's the same there. I have a hood, but I am headless.The AA for the helmet is set to work like a helmet should, so I know the helmet is techincally there, since my head dissapears, but the textures for the helmet itself doesn't show for some reason. I've googled my problem around and I've managed to come across another forum post about this exact problem. The reason I'm making another one is because the post I found was about 4 years ago and it didn't have a concrete solution that worked for me. I welcome suggestions but I hope atleast one of you have had this problem before and can offer a solution. Let me know if I need to provide any more information if anything is unclear. Hallgarth Posted March 20, 2016 Share Posted March 20, 2016 If the head partitions in the dismemberment skin info in the nif don't match the ones in the CK, it can cause a mesh not to show. The only partition used because it's a full-faced helmet should just be the head, but hoods do use 141 longhair. I guess you look at the partitions in the dismemberment skin info in nifskope and see if they match. If they do, then it's probably another problem.
