Geck crashes

Recommended Posts

I am currently working on my first mod and its been a long hard road learning all these new programs and whatnot, but i finally got the ball rolling whit this guide here:

http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Creating_an_armour_for_Fallout._Part_2

i followed every step and its looked good in blender and in nif skope but as soon as i try to load the armor into the GECK i crash before i can even render my armor.

i feel like i can touch the finish line but i cant wrap my head around what could be wrong.

Look at your nif in nifskope, in the tree view.

If you expand the niNode, is there another one right under it? That will crash it every time.

To fix in blender:

hide all your meshes

select all your armatures. delete them

uhide your meshes

import your skeleton, and choose 'import skeleton only + parent selected meshes'

select your skeleton only and export it as your new nif.

You can also fix it in NifSkope. Click on the first NiNode: Scene Root to open it. Then right click on the NiNode: Scene Root that is directly beneath the first one, go down to block, and crop to branch. Save the .nif and your done.
