tornado1002's dragon race: http://www.tessource.net/files/file.php?id=5622

in fact im having trouble with all downloads that arnt in .esp. for the ones that dont work what hapens is , when i go to tick them at the data files thingy its says they are not proper oblivion files. if anyone could point me in the right direction or link me to a tutorial that would really help. thanks

Yeah, you should have read a tutorial or something.

A ".rar" files is a compressed file, not an esp. You have to "extract" the rar file to get the contents out. Its similair to a zip file in that way. You'll need to download winrar to extract it, and you can get a free version of that I think. Once you have extracted the rar file, you'll end up with an esp, a readme (normally) and possibly extra files, depending on the mod. Simple mods will normally be just the esp and readme, but bigger ones with things like new models and textures will also contain those files. You only need to put the esp file into the oblivion\data folder, you can delete the readme after reading it. Once thats done, check the mod in the data section and you'll be fine.

Please also note the fact that you were having trouble is not related to the any specific mod.
