LACEE
Having a really odd problem. I'm getting 5fps in Caldera. No fluxuation whatsoever. 14 in Balmora, also non changing. I'm VERY confused, as I have a 2ghz processor and 512ddr ram. NEVER had a problem before. I've tried uninstalling any mods that effect Caldera and it didn't change it. I have lowered my view distance and anything else that can be changed via ingame and the INI file. I've uninstalled/reinstalled Morrowind multiple times. Here's the wierdest part, my life-mate has a toon in Caldera as I type this getting 11-15fps. Now that's not great, or even what I'm used to, but it's better then a solid 5. Any ideas what might be going on? I thought maybe it's the difference in the amount of items we have. I have Abu's retreat PACKED. I keep EVERYTHING. I have every book in the game and almost a full set (x4) of every armor. My partner only has the stuff that was collected while raiding Caldera (snicker). Please help if you're able. Thanks a bunch in advance.
Zmid
I have a suggestion - load up your game and go to Caldera, save it, exit Morrowind, unload all your mods and reload that save game. If your FPS goes up to a normal level, it is down to a mod. To track which particular one it is down to, simply reload every mod one by one and reload the save game after each one until you get to the one which reduces your FPS again. If your FPS does not go up after you unload all mods, try then starting a new game (again, with no mods) and go directly to Caldera and see how your FPS is then. drowst
Did you upgrade drivers for your vid card? Both ATI and Nvidia have had issues in their last couple driver releases..... Might do a defrag as well, and check and see if something is running in the background that you didn't know about.
