NMM not using BAIN wizards?

Bain is specifically made for Wrye Bash (which is the advised mod manager for Oblivion).

IIRC, NMM was supposed to be able to run the OMOD/OBMM scripts, but it still doesn't support them.

Trust me: NMM is the worst choice for Oblivion.

It's not able to run a single script in more than half the Oblivion mods on the Nexus (because many of them were created before NMM, so they only have scripts for OBMM and/or Wrye Bash, and it's rare a new mod include a NMM script), so you'll encounter many problem with these mods.

Also, it doesn't let you manage and reorder the "installation order" (which is different from the "load order" and twice as important).

The top mod managers are Wrye Bash and Mod Organizer.

Personally, I suggest Wrye Bash, because it has the unique feature called "Bashed Patch", which is a must for every player.

Mod Organizer is a great mod manager, but it has a little unresolved problem with OBSE plugins: Oblivion/OBSE can't read the OBSE plugins (the files *.dll) installed by MO, so this forces you to install those mods manually or with another mod manager, which in turn crush with the two primary reasons MO was created for:

  1. keep the Data folder clean as vanilla
  2. let the mod manager manage ALL your mods.

Also, you would need to install Wrye Bash anyway because of the bashed patch, so I suggest you just go with Wrye Bash.

Other players have different opinions about WB vs MO, so I invite them to discuss this argument one last time... then you'll take the final decision.
