chitokusan
ive been trying my hand at nifskope and making my own textures with GIMP. The textures look all fine when i save them as DDS, and then put the texture onto a mesh, but when i put the armor ingame itself, then the whole body of whatever that armor covers just disapears. Anyone kno why this happens? Edited June 9, 2011 by chitokusan
wetblanket
I think that's a missing normal map. If you are just retexing then the original normal map will most probably be fine. Just copy and rename it to the form: newtexture_n.dds eg. new texture is 'purplearmour.dds' then the normal would be 'purplearmour_n.dds'.

wetblanket
You could try (it will work) but, depending on how different the meshes are, the visuals may be... interesting. Most likely you will need to generate a new normal map either in your graphics software or perhaps by importing the mesh into Blender or similar, but I don't know much about actually making normal maps. Good luck :)
