In terms of how much GB it will have. I don't care, as long as it stays in the 10's (10 - 20).

I usually don't really care how much GB a game has, more GB means more content and that's a good thing.

GB is an issue since a single DVD tops out at about 9gb of data (used to be about half that when Oblivion was released). Although BluRay can hold quite a bit more, it's not common enough on PCs and the only system with BluRay discs is PS3. So something full speech with as many lines as Morrowind would require several DVDs to install, which increases costs, requires more space on users PCs, more cached resources, and probably necessitates disk swapping. For a console... that isn't even an option.

Couldn't you just install the game onto the console instead? On to their hard drives?

No. People are cheap. A lot of Xbox 360 owners don't even have hard drives, or if they do they have the 4 GB that can barely hold an expansion pack or two.

Oh, yes it is! As I've heard, L.A. Noire for the Xbox 360 came in 3 discs!

Yes, and no... For an episodic, linear game it's possible... For something like Skyrim or most games, it isn't because you'd constantly have to be swapping disks every time you changed areas... That was an annoyance from early days of PC gaming that most don't care to revisit.

Well shipping across multiple discs doesn't necessarily increase costs. Just ship all the extra PC stuff on a 2nd discs, and the costs will pretty much stay the same.

Examples;

Mass Effect 2; Needed 2 discs for Xbox 360, but was still the same price as PC.

Original Morrowind GOTY; 6 Discs for PC. Still Cheap, and they make discs for this all the time(which is evident by the fact there's one of these big Morrowind GOTY boxes on the selves of about every Best Buy I've been to.)

KoTOR 1; 4 discs for PC. Has always been Cheap, though I'm unsure whether or not they manufacture discs for this game anymore.

I wouldn't mind needing 2 discs to install all the content, it's nothing new. Though, I'll end up going through Steam cause it's convenient.(If steam will hurry up and put up a pre-order page that is.)
