Bullet penetrate thought objects

Hi i not sure fallout new vegas does the bullet really go thought objects that can hit for a percent of damge to hiding enemy behide a object. I feel this kind of effect is to make some real in game that a larger bullet velocity can really penetrate something and hit the target for the percentage of damage. This is some idea that some script or modder can create in the game which making the game more fun and real to play on.

outstanding idea! I have occationally found myself emptying a magazine into a small wooden palisade in an effort to get to the drug addled psycotic hidden behind it only to find when i'm reloading i have done no damage to him, and hes popped out and capped me in the head.

 

Also when under fire from heavy guns it would add a bit of pressure to keep moving if a fraction of the damage was still being poured onto you.

you are not the only one wanting this in game. Though the idea is great implementing it would be tricky on numerous fronts.

Primary front: how to calculate the percentage of penetration. This would vary between caliber and target surface, I mean it would be unreasonable that a .22lr would penetrate the same as a .50 BMG on the same surface.

In addition looking through the GECK I could not find anything that would properly enable this suggested mod to be used as it should. Meaning a mod that would add this to the game would at worst have to modify all surfaces and as a result be overly large.

 

Yes I want this in game but putting it in game would be tricky at best.

Yes i know this implement idea is very tricky and really need massive of job to be done as compare to modding we seem nowadays.

 

Calculate weapon bullet penetrate result in brainstorm as there is quite a numbers of bullet type in fallout. But still this is really a good option to be added in game if someone can come across a program for this to be done.

 

Basically how the creator create the bullet is how the effect done by adding it to the bullet itself.

 

Anyway i just give out idea on the forum if someone came to the mind of doing it i can join in the scripting project with him as well.

Have you considered high explosives? I tend to deal with enemies around corners and behind palisades by just loading the HE ammo in the Vladimir and shooting at some wall or the ground in that area. Hey, if HE is good enough for the military, it's good enough for me :P
