Qistina
Hi, I have a request, i would like to ask for cool two handed swords model. It is because the original model are so ugly. Is there a way to change their models without changing their property/attribute? Magic Great Sword, Yusaris, Ageless and even Normal Great Sword are too ugly. The only beautiful Model is Ornamental Sword and Summer Sword. But Ornamental Sword is not special and not worth to wear, and Summer Sword is acquired in the late game (and have to kill Ser Cuthrien first, a hard fight) Is there a way to change all Great Sword model to Ornamental Sword model? (or is there already a mod for that i like to know) Thanks. Edited June 10, 2011 by Qistina
TSotP
OK, you have 2 options really (or you can do both) Option 1) Download Adonnays Weapon Replacer (found here: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=777) It replaces models ad1, ad2, and ad3 (Chasind Flatblade, Dwarven Greatsword & Human Greatsword) with more realistic ones. Option 2) Download The Winter Forge (found here: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=122) It lets you forge any type of blade you like, and you can even copy the Magical Properties from one item to another using it. You can do both options 1 and 2, and the Forge will let you create the new models, and then you could copy over the stats from the sword you like onto the model you like. Be careful and read the mod descriptions though. Adonnays Weapon Replacer also replaces Longsword models. And wiith it installed, you will not be able to forge the original models (this point should be moot though, since you think the original models look bad) _______________Edit: Had to catch my bus, so finished my post via phone while in transit lol. Qistina
Oh thank you very much! I don't dare try to edit the models myself, i am not a technical person, afraid it will destroy the whole game and have to re install everything lols, thanks for the links. I don't mind about realistic or not, the graphic it self is unrealistic, just the original models are so ugly for me and too simple, like being put last minutes by Bioware. DarkeWolf
I've got to add my vote in for the Winter Forge as well. I absolutely love making my own custom weapons in game. Or altering the stats of some of the custom items that I've gotten from mods. As you really like the summer sword model, you might check out InBleedingRapture's mod here- http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1621 which adds longsword versions of the blade for your characters. :D As well as Ghost's Runic Warden Armor. Which includes a custom item two hander built from the Summer Sword model.http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=647 Enjoy and happy gaming :) PS- Love the avatar TSotP!! :thumbsup:I've been a fan of the Guyver anime for many years! Will it also effect the other mod you guys shared? It is ok if it don't, just two handed sword are too big.
DarkeWolf
Hiyas Qistina :)No problem at all about the recommendations. :)I'm not sure which mod you are talking about, I did a search and I couldnt find any mods including the words "Shrinking".If you can point a link to it I could maybe tell you if it would or not. I can say tho that if the used the base mesh, and didnt rename it to something else, that the altered mesh "could" affect the textures. So the item may not look right.I wrote an article a while back on how to do some item resampling, with a very, very easy to use program called DA Tool.http://www.dragonagenexus.com/articles/article.php?id=41Tho again, it doesn't rename the meshes, so it would possibly make custom textures look wrong.
Qistina
Hi Drakewolf, lols, i man decreased two handed weapon size mod. I already install this mod sometime time ago and it did shrinking two handed weapon size (although the sword still cut through the character feet when running). I have view DA Tool you shared, but sorry i don't understand it, i am not technical person, just end user (and my English suck) I have download some of the the links you guys shared here but not install them yet, i fear they will conflicting. TSotP
I'd still install The Winter Forge. i don't think it has any known conflicts and is pretty much a must have. things it lets you do: Change the Material Tint on items: The Tier stays the same, just the colour changes. Raise and Lower the Tier of items: Changing the tier of items. eg changing 'the spellweaver' from silverite up to dragonbone Change the Visual FX on weapons: You can make weapons look like they are flaming, iced etc. This doesn't effect the actual stats of the weapon, just how it looks. create items of all types: amulets, rings, belts, clothes, robes, armour, bows, staffs, swords, mauls.... everything, of all types. Darkspawn weapons, Chantry robes. Basically, anything you can get your hands on at any point during the game, you can forge the same model as it. add magical enchantments to items: you can enchant anything with any kind of normal enchantment (no longswords that have +1000000 damage however) Copy magical properties from one item to another: Seen a longsword with great stats but would prefer it as a battleaxe? no problem, just copy it. Allocate Item set bonuses: eg. you can make it so your newly forged cowl, robes, gloves and boots do the same as King Cailen's armor set when you put them on. change the type of projectile staffs fire. Again, just a visual thing. You want a staff that shoots lightning, no problem. And best of all, you can use the winter forge in a balanced, non game breaking way, where you need to have some raw dragonbone to create your new greatsword, or the correct enchantment recipe to give your armour the +10 health you want.OR change a few options, and with the right magical enchantments, your Level 1 warrior can be running about in shiny silverite coloured, Tier 7 massive armor that boosts all his stats, gives him maximum elemental resistance and wielding weapons the have +10 against everything, in all elements and makes him attack quicker, thus making him an unstopable killing machine. What i personally find it good for is when i download an armor mod for my current character, I can remove any enchantments and downgrade the tier of the new armor and wear it right from the beginning. Then, as i play and buy armor for my character, i can upgrade the tier accordingly (1 tier every 3 levels) and copy over the magical enchantments. P.S. - Thanks DarkeWolf, i've been a fan myself since i was about 11 or 12 years old. I think Murikami looks awesome, Sleaker and more nimble than a bulky Guyver Unit Edited June 14, 2011 by TSotP
Qistina
Thank you for the explanation, i didn't install it yet, fear of it will ruin everything lols. Actually i have re install the game 2 times, first it is because of acheivement and specialization unlocked in new game, i thought there is something wrong, so i uninstall and re install the game, but still both are unlocked. Later, i know that i will remain unlocked forever. Second time, i don't know how, my antivirus say there is virus at character file, so the game cannot load, i delete the file, i thought it only delete the virus, but it delete the whole. So i cannot play the game, it won't load. So i re install again...lols But thank you for kindness in giving explaation. :) i am 31 years old by the way... TSotP
My antivirus did the same thing. I take it the file is Nxcharacter.dll? if that's the case, set your antivirus scanner to ignore your dragon age/bin_ship folder, your game should work again with no problems. And the reason i went into a big long explanation of The Winter Forge is because i've had it for a while but only realised how useful it is in the last few months. Also, certain popular mods are supported by it. So forging several of Ghost11's 'Runic Armor', or In Bleeding Rapture's 'Witcher' armor and weapons is easy I am 27 years old BTW Edited June 18, 2011 by TSotP
