greggg67
I downloaded the NMM and started using it for my installation of FO3. .Then I was asked where to store mods. I chose C:\Games . Then It wanted to know where to store install info. I chose C:\program filesthen, virtual install (?) I chose c:\program files. So I ran NMM and it found my FO3 install in ..program files. So I then tried to use the 'download with manager' feature. It refused. Said, FO3 had to be outside of program files. So I uninstalled it, and lost all of my saves, and reinstalled it on my D:\ drive. Tried the download manager again and it refused to work.... Then I open the game selection window , and my FO3 on drive D:\ is highlighted, I click on it, and the window says, "unable to get write permissions for D:" I look at 'see details' and it starts in again about program files on C:\ So it suggests run as administrator, OK, Here goes.....Then I right click and chose properties and compatibility...administrator and still...Cannot. Still get 'unable to get write permissions for D:\. What am I doing wrong? can you send me to a similar thread.......Looking at all the threads gets mind-numbing.... greggg67
Well, I uninstalled FO3 and reinstalled it in a different place, even uninstalled my saves again, and now FO3 crashes at every startup. I uninstalled again, and removed NMM, then reinstalled FO3 again and it still crashes. Some kind of virus has been installed to my computer and I am thinking I am going to have to do a clean install of windows 7 to get rid of it. Sad. Bummed out. Bad experience for a 'premium member'.
