Dragonborn dlc gamebreaking problem

My question is how many times have you used console commands to proceed in your game.. Console commands are ok but often cause problems down the road even when not related. DB is buggy as stated and man saves should be made have you left and went back to skyrim the try to come back? sometimes leaving an cell or even in this case a different land can fix an issue.

As stated DB is buggy as hell, you really need the Unofficial Legendary patch.

It's not just DB, vanilla Skyrim is just plain buggy, USLEEP fixes pretty much all of the bugs in the main game & the DLC.

Even if you want to play an unmodded vanilla game I would still consider this absolutely essential simply because it doesn't alter the game, it just picks up where the last official patch left off and fixes the bugs Bethesda left untouched.

Mmm...

You may be having a mod compatibility problem, which prevents the script from kicking-on, I have found Dragonborn to be very touchy to other mods, if you have mods that change the map itself, or add activities at random times such as "defeat" you will certainly get messed-up.

I would suggest to take a look at the mods you have in MCM and disable any that perhaps could relate to Dragonborn activities, and once you got past the hurdle, go back an re-activate them.

Good Luck Bud

I had this problem myself, as far as I know the only way to fix it is to disable dragonborn.esm (and of course any mods dependant on it), save the game, and then re-enable it. You'll lose all your progress in the dlc, as well as any dlc items you had, but it probably beats starting a new game.

I used to have a similar problem, but mine's probably different case. I messed around with timescale for.. i don't really remember why i did that  Anyway I set the timescale to 2 where the default is 20.. read the black book and Miraak and his minions just gazed at me and do nothing

I load the previous saves and return the timescale back to 20, continue to read the book and Miraak talk and zap me, and everything back to normal
