Dr. Corbett
Now, I don't know about you guys, but I happen to love collecting things. Valuable items, gemstones that you can pile, mountains of coins, and especially books. However, there are basically no good places with lots of bookcases in the game that aren't redundantly full of books already/crawling with ordinators/guards/shopkeepers or whatever, and definately no great storage areas. So, I figure, why not make a giant, (perhaps redoran-rich style, like the council hall) underground library/sword storage/treasury that's richly decorated and has lots of room for your book collection/mounds of gems/gold/DDKs, armour dummies, et cetera. Sounds like an idea to me. You tell me what it sounds like to you.
Nevermore
Mind waiting about 5 days? Under ground, redoran styl, classy looking, no gaurds or anything, dummys, book selfs....*writes down* Just give me 2-5 days. It'll be called "Corbett's Treasury", or what ever else you want it to be caled. Any other ideas for the place?
valdir
Nevermore saidAny other ideas for the place? A moat around the entrance, a walkway with spike pits on either side to get to places, creepy ambient music and a non-hostile, invincible Guar. Thanks! :P -val
Smashy
in my opinion the invincible guar sounds a bit over the top...and what about those of us who dont like music in the game. ita a hastle to go and turn off music every time you enter some where if its an activator. i think that the moat/w spikes is cool, mabey some oversized slaughter fish in it? mabey even a lil farm for those alchemists (not me i just eat what i find!). this could be a nice mod when ppl use your buya bear and wolf mod and a pack guar mod (preferably balmora pack guar vendor it less buggy than others). and finaly the most important issue! it must be balanced otherwise it kinda destroys the fun of morrowind!
Arkayan
Any other ideas for the place? An indor Forest!
Dr. Corbett
Well, I'm not a very experienced modder. However, an indoor forest would be nice, if it's done in a taiga sort of fashion. (Sorry, as a Canadian, I have difficulty with forests that aren't pine and covered in snow, j/k) Ah, a bedroom would be okay for the character. However, I'd like to keep this to a storage mod so as to avoid some over-the-top complications [i.E. becoming cheap]. However, I do request that you include some sort of display case. They really do look excellent. If that's not possible, perhaps somewhere to show off stuff; like a bit of a table for gold, et cetera. It should be well lit by chandeliers. (Perhaps.) Oh, and no music. :P Ah, also, you should include some sort of shelving that can fit some of the larger books in. [You may need to expand the Imperial bookshelves by a factor of (1.35?) As the redoran rich style allows for gigantic, vaulted, and high ceilings, a mezzanine surrounded by bookshelves would be a bit nice, too, for those of us that could collect fluff books and use book rotate to flip them about and stick them on our shelves. Rugs and tapestries would be nice. So would a waterfall. However, if you get the basic bits in, I'd be happy to add some little touches myself if you don't feel like doing that. Nevermore
Forest... waterfall... The bedroom I can do. Even the invinsable gaur (although there is no reseon for it cuz no one else breaks into homes). Things slowed a bit when I relised I ddin't have the meniquine mod anymore so progrees haulted there. Expect this to take (with the bed room and thick book selves) about another two days. Sorry for the wait,Nevermore
Dr. Corbett
Hey, don't apologize. Beggers can't be choosers, and I'm a beggar right now, so take your time! BTW, you made the mod, so there's no need to name it after me. Also, while some indoor plants are nice, there's no need for a forest :-)
Dr. Corbett
Hey, hey, let's not forget about this, eh, nevermore?
cmac
I don't have the rich, underground Redoran thingy, but I recently made a mod for myself that has a cottage up north in Sheogorad. There's a cave next to it that has a bunch of storage space. For some reason, you can't walk under the porch in the cave without disabling clipping. Here are the cottage and cave mods, separatly.
