reillys_pink_ranger
Sadly no, no progress. can you go into more detail on that? FOMM was NOT running well for you before, so you updated your .net framework? I haven't had any problems running FOMM itself, but upgrading your .net framework now allows Fallout to run in compatibility mode? Well, it allows it to run and then crash as usual, I imagine...Precisely.See my post above with the FOMM error screen. I went to the Nexus page for FOM download, read some comments indicating issues with FNV, but these were for an earlier version of FOMM. I messed with it, disabling UAC checks, set FNV to run on WXP SP3, and got that error above. Downloaded newest net framework:http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=17851 ran FOMM fine after. Now I have successfully returned to square 1. I have become so accustomed to every effort failing that if I ever just get to the start menu, I might $hit myself.

I don't know, except that the new one is from earlier this year.Despite the so-far disappointing results, I want to reassure you I appreciate your help. At least when I get around to re-installing W7, I'll know we tried everything.

Chasm
Hey, I saw on another forum to use "event viewer", and I'm showing that my error is in gameoverlayrenderer.dll Does that mean anything to anyone? EDIT - Actually that's only when the launcher crashes on me, which is just an irritation. When the actual game crashes the source is "unknown" Edited July 13, 2011 by Chasm
