TimmyTheNerd
I found some things about it online, I figured it would be something similar to the San Andreas Multiplayer Mod for PC. Is it worth getting and how well does it run?
iceburg
The best one out there is Oblivion Online (which you should easily be able to google). I've nearly drawn blood trying to get a multiplayer oblivion mod and so far I've found nothing that works. Oblivion online may allow you to see an npc that represents your friend, but its pretty much a lost cause. I've heard its because the code is just geared toward a one player game. Todd Howard says that multiplayer is the number 1 requested change, but he feels that if he were to work on multiplayer it would reduce the ability for the elderscrolls to be an awesome game. Though I hate the idea of no multiplayer, I guess what Howard says makes sense, and hey, the guy is a genius, so I'll listen to him.Sorry Timmy. TimmyTheNerd
I can see pros and cons of MP being introduced to the Elder Scrolls. Maybe if it was handled so MP would be in a different world/land ya can visit and wont be linked to the main storyline?
Chrisworld
A friend and I got it working but decided to scrap it. When we first heard about it we were pretty excited. Oblivion is an amazing game and to be able to play coop would have been awesome. Sadly all it does is show the other player as an npc running around with a generic armorset and generic look for their race. But it does show their name. Both of your worlds are essentially private to each player. You can even kill your friend but he wont die in his game. He was even saying how he was being attacked in hackdirt but I wasn't. It was cool though, but deemed pretty much a conversation piece more than a useful application.
TimmyTheNerd
Yeah, only way I can think of it working is if the world was saved on one computer or an online source and that players would simply appear in the world at a random inn. Everything would be stored on one computer, so players could kill eachother and even see eachother's characters.
