FallenAce
Hello Everyone, I'm having an issue with my copy of TW2. It's not a particularly widespread issue, but I have seen some information on other forums. I cannot talk to NPCs in the game. The option to click on them (the orange bubble and arrow do not appear. In fact, the only appear if I run ubersampling, which as you know, does not do any favors for framerates. I've read some people saying it's an issue with the ATi/AMD CAP4, but I have it with that file installed or uninstalled. Others have changed the sample size to medium, etc. but this also did not help me. In order to run ubersampling, I have to knock my screen res to 1280X720 (1920X1080 native) which stretches and the proportions are wrong unless I run in windowed mode. My system is as-follows: CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 BlackRAM: Kingston 16GB DDR3MoBo: Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD4PGFX: Diamond Radeon 5770 CrossFire with 5750 (valid CrossFire configuration)OS: Windows 7 x64 Enterprise (identical to Ultimate in function) Any ideas? Thanks!
tommy5761
Is this with random NPC`s or all NPC`s including Rche , Triss etc.?If all NPC`s i would suggest reinstall with antivirus temporarily disabled in case that the AV kept the game from configuring itself properly . FallenAce
All NPCs. Only scripted events occur (like when you leave Flotsam for the forest and Triss appears). When the event ends, there is no option to click on NPCs. I was very confused when this happened. I thought there was something I needed to do before I talked to anyone, so I was level 7 before I got my silver sword. I'll reinstall it again. Antivirus was disabled last time as well. I'll probably try playing without patching as well, although it might not like that since I've had a haircut, and that is added via patch, right? swordsman5
Try just starting a new game anyway before uninstalling if you can click on NPCs in the new game then it must be some sort of corrupted save with the previous game.
FallenAce
After reinstalling (again) and the issue continuing, with or without patching and starting a new game, the problem persisted. This morning, however, I woke up to see a request to update to new drivers. Apparently AMD/ATi put out new ones overnight and once those were installed, all ran as it should. Now all I have left to do is drop the Display Port usage, because it regularly loses function while the game is running. Thanks anyway guys!
