oanswat
Hi I'm trying to recolor a daedric batleaxe to something a little more blueish green I can change the color of the dds file but I'm having some trouble figuring out how to attach it to the mesh and put it in the game. Does anyone know a quick way to recolor armor or weapons? I should have all the required software so that's not a problem but a few pointers by some smart people would be greatly appreciated. David Brasher
It sounds like you have already done the hard part by creating a new texture. The easy part follows. The program you need is NifSkope. It is free and downloadable. It is the tool you use to attach new textures to meshes. Just be sure you get the settings right so that it is configured to work with Oblivion rather than Civiliazation IV or some other game. Your texture paths will need to read like: Textures\Weapons\MyBattleAxe not like: C:\Games\Oblivion\Data\Textures\Weapons\MyBattleAxe You will also need to create a new battleaxe in the CS and direct its mesh path to your new mesh.
