So i am trying to get a more immersive hud i game using the video gopher has made for DEF UI :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=puzGu4Cm2VQ

The problem i am running into is that i am 100% sure that i followed the instructions in the video , yet whenever i try to change the HUD in the data / interface map (where you drag the files onto the flash player). save, get back in game

nothing has really changed...

i do however have the "extra info" when looking at a item (telling me if has cobber, steel etc.)

what am i doing wrong?

the only mod i have is shadow boost prior to trying to install this mod..

also i could not find the "fallout4custom" ini file so i made it myself... thats all i have done xD

Are you sure you put the saved xml files in the correct location?

Data\Interface\DEF_CONF

and not just

Data\Interface

otherwise when you save try to save it somewhere else and then manualy move it to Data\Interface\DEF_CONF folder.

I've uploaded my own DEF_CONF folder and my Fallout4Custom.ini maybe you could see if these change anything for you.

Place the Fallout4Custom.ini in

Documents\My Games\Fallout4 folder,

and drop the folder DEF_CONF into

Data\Interface folder.

Be sure to backup your DEF_CONF folder so you can restore your own settings.

That means your .esp file is working, just not the interface. Check your fallout4.ini and make sure that under [archive] it has these lines somewhere.

bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
sResourceDataDirsFinal=

It sounds from your description as though maybe you're still using the old method of activating mods (a big long list of directories after that = sign), which can have this problem with the current versions of Fallout 4.

That is why i included my Fallout4Custom.ini so I know that it's edited the right way.

The Fallout4Custom.ini won't get overridden by the launcher and it overrides the settings of Fallout4.ini and Fallout4Prefs.ini so the settings will always work.

Oh good thinking, I misunderstood and hadn't realized that's what you were doing.
