CTD at main menu.

Oki so ran into another problem.

When I load the game I can sometimes load it and play it fine for a while. But other times, when I go to click anything for the main menu the game immediately does a CTD. Loading it again after that just gives a faster CTD.

And I have no clue why it's doing this in a rather cyclical fashion where load the game once and it runs fine, load it up again and it crashes. T_T

Yeah, I'm sorry it's hard to advise on something like this. Most things either cause problems or they don't, it's actually very rare for a problem like this to happen only some of the time. Maybe if it were something you were doing in the game that triggered it it could make sense, but from the main menu it's very strange.

I'd actually suggest taking a look outside of Fallout 4 at other programs running on your computer. Check that there's nothing running in the background that could be causing memory problems (virus scans, defrags, extremely memory intensive programs, video capture software sometimes) that could maybe explain it.

Also it may be worth verifying your game's cache through Steam, sometimes a missing or corrupted video file can cause a CTD at the early game and because these are randomly selected it could maybe explain the intermittent nature of your crashes.

But yeah, I'm not really certain.

Sadly I don't run many programs to begin with specifically because I don't like background programs affecting performance.

Though I did disable some of the startup videos/images, maybe the game is still trying to play them and when it can't it crashes. >_>

I'll re-enable those and see if that helps.

That seems like the most likely explanation to me, but it's just pure speculation. I did have something similar happen to me though once when I accidentally deleted one of the video files while I was doing some manual mod uninstallation, which is what made me think of this as a possibility.
