BrokenMessiah
I am stoked about Skyrim, but I know my cpu likely will not be able to handle the graphics and I refuse to play such a beatuy on low settings so I am hopefully buying a 360/ps3 soon to play it on. Gift? Cool....

bben46
http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-signs046.gif Unfortunately, mods will not be supported on your new console. A decent upgrade to your present computer may be sufficient to play, and cost less than a new console. - Depending a lot on what you presently have and your budget. A laptop is usually not upgradeable - beyond adding more RAM, while most, but not all desktop computers are to some extent.
BrokenMessiah
How much does a upgrade of graphics cost?
bben46
Somewhere between US $50 and US $ 800. You can get a good one for around $100, a better one for about $150 a very good one for $250. Anything more than that is overkill. First, you need to find what type you mother board supports. The newest type is PCIe and has been used on most boards for the last few yearsOlder types are PCI (with no 'e') and AGP If you have the manufacturer and model of your computer someone here can pull the specifications for you and let you know what it supports
