Simplejoe75
As I stated above all the buttons on my xbox 1 controller work in game. Except for the Left Trigger it doesn't work when I hold it for Witcher Sense, and parrying. It's like it's just in this game it doesn't do anything. Am I missing something? I can use the right mouse to do it just fine. The controller works on all my other games. I don't think it's the actual controller. Any ideas or help is really appreciated. ddavies10693
Did you reassign the button accidentally? Or use a custom key mapping mod? I also use the same controller with no problems, so it is unlikely that the game itself is not working correctly with the controller. It's actually designed to be used with both Xbox 1 and PS4 controllers (as well as keyboard obviously), and shouldn't have any problems by default. faust82
I know this is a year and a half late, but I noticed this thread when trying to figure out my similar problem, so leaving this in here for future searchers: The Witcher 3 has a trigger point for the left and right triggers set so you have to have them all the way in. Remarkably backwards, considering the senses are an on/off thing, not a graded response. Anyway, this causes problems if you for some reason can't get the trigger to go all the way in.- Many have reported this problem with the Xbox One Elite controllers. In those cases, it's usually resolved by turning off the trigger locks on the controller, allowing them full travel again.- If you're using the Xbox controllers on the PC, you can run a joystick calibration on it, which will then adjust the min/max positions of the trigger to reflect what your controller actually reports, and you're back in action. These solutions didn't help me, I had the standard Xbox One controller and was using it on the Xbox One. Here's a clipping from another thread I left a possible solution in: I had a similar problem with my Xbox One controller on this game, but on the Xbox version so recalibrating wasn't an option to me. I checked every available thread for hours, including this one, without getting any closer. In my case I found that the problem was hardware related. I had an additional symptom to go by: the left trigger on the controller felt gritty at times. When opening the controller up I found that the screw securing the button assembly on the left-hand side to the frame had worked itself loose impeding the trigger travel. This wasn't an issue on any other game than The Witcher, so I hadn't really looked into it before. Re-fastening the screw and putting the controller back together resulted in it working flawlessly with The Witcher 3 and feeling like new again. Please be extremely careful if opening the controller. Watch a Youtube howto or two first, don't use excessive force, and please be aware that opening it up voids your warranty.
